We all know that advertising is a huge part of everyday living for us all. Obviously, any kind of advertisements are an essential part of marketing for any company, let alone a leading automotive company. German manufacturing company Bayerische Motoren Werke, more commonly referred to as BMW has come full circle with their award winning ad spots. This is true whether it is in print or broadcast form and to say the least, these advertisements really do work for them. Here is a list of what I think are the top 3 BMW print ads and why.

1. -You're move, BMW… Checkmate.- This ad has got the whole world of advertising looking. Moving away from the traditional billboard BMW released this refreshingly innovative billboard campaign that is sweeping the country and getting more talk than every super bowl commercial ever made. This campaign is moving to new heights as it broadcasts its ever long battle between their competing German company Audi full size! In my opinion the untraditional format of the BMW billboard alone just works. However, the language they use play a big part in success as well. I mean, to play off chess lingo, it's just brilliant. BMW gets a 10 for 10 from me on this one.

2. -The ultimate attraction.- This ad moves in a whole new direction but again, leaning more towards success. We all know that sex sells. With this print ad BMW stretched the idea of sexual norm both with accuracy and a slight edge. Usually, you see the woman wandering off during the act, but throw a BMW into the mix; you've got your man in a whole other ballpark. This one gets props for originality, humor, and like the previous ad for stepping outside the box of automotive advertising.

3. -Guilty pleasures are bought. The finer pleasures can be leased.- This ad is targeting the female driver which is not very common in automotive campaigns. I think this was a smart choice due to the influx of headstrong female executives who want to look just as hot as their male bosses. Not only does the off kilter affect draw you in but the overall beauty of that BMW totally makes you forget there's a female within the frame. This ad did the company wonders as it hits the two genders simultaneously and effectively. It never hurts to bring a female into the mix. We all know that woman in the picture doesn't know how to change her oil and knows even less about BMW parts but, we all do know that beauty sure does. This ad hits the BMW enthusiast and the potential female buyer all on the same page.

Ultimately, BMW is an automotive company that isn't afraid to spice it up when it comes to their marketing campaigns. They have now managed to hit every single potential customer in the nation. Whether it is selling sex, selling the lifestyle, or pushing buttons, BMW has a way of staying modern and fresh with their ad campaigns. It's no secret that this company proves year after year that their cars are the leading luxury cars from Germany and beyond.
