A change of lifestyle is good for your health, most especially if you are changing from a bad one to a good and better kind of lifestyle. This also means eating healthier, doing exercises, doing everything in moderation and planning your goals to be more healthy in life. It requires some patience, focus and resilience to do it.

A change of lifestyle is good for your health, most especially if you are changing from a bad one to a good and better kind of lifestyle. This also means eating healthier, doing exercises, doing everything in moderation and planning your goals to be more healthy in life. It requires some patience, focus and resilience to do it.

Your lifestyle greatly affects your health. It can be a good one or a bad kind of lifestyle that you may follow throughout your lifetime. If it has negative effects to your health and comfort as well as those around you, then you may have to get ready for a change. A bad lifestyle causes ill effects on your health and you are most likely going to end up getting heart disease as one of the most common end results you get from having a bad lifestyle.

If you are starting to have some heart problems, or symptoms of having it such as erratic heart beat, heavy breathing or difficulty, some chest pains, high blood pressure levels and similar other signs; then you are sick. Have yourself checked by your doctor and ask for professional advice about how you must manage your health problems.

The first thing to do in having a change of lifestyle is admitting to yourself that you are sick, and that you have to accept that you have to do it for yourself to get better. If you realize that you are overweight due to your bad eating habits, then you have to figure out for yourself that you have to get rid of those bad eating habits. After acceptance, you have to make a plan - set realistic goals for yourself to change your lifestyle by doing away with bad eating habits. You have to be focused, consistent and patient with your goals, taking it slowly, one step at a time till you are able to keep up. Try to be more resilient and remember that your heart problems can be prevented and kept under control if you yourself make the effort to do it.

The foods you eat have their effects to your heart. Too many fatty and oily foods have taken their toll to your heart and you have to prevent this. Make a food log so you can track down the kinds of foods you eat. The food log is a record of foods you take in, their calorie contents and requirements, the times you have to eat them and other data which you may want to take note of to track down your food intakes.

You must also make sure you are eating a well-balanced diet of vegetables, fruits, fish and lean meat. Try to avoid eating too many carbohydrates and sweets. Try to eat more high fiber foods like whole grains, oatmeal and wheat bread. Drink more water and avoid sodas and carbonated drinks. If you can, eat in smaller portions; take 5-6 small meals throughout the day composed of healthy options of fruit slices, vegetable salads, cereals, lean cuts of chicken breast, salmon or tuna chunks, vegetable soup, carrot and celery sticks and some crackers and a lot of fresh water.

When cooking your food, be more into baking or grilling than frying them. This would take off the fat content of the food. Blend vegetables into fresh vegetable juices or you can make fresh fruit juices from your favorite fruits as well.

You must also do moderate exercises. Start some stretching exercises, do some brisk walking, light jogging, biking, and swimming and do some light weights. Check with your doctor first if you want to do some more cardio or weight training.

A change in lifestyle also means getting rid of unhealthy habits. Such bad habits are smoking, drinking alcohol and taking in drugs. Your body has suffered so much abuse from these bad habits and your heart is the first to be affected. Your body must also get the required amount of sleep to feel rested and recharged.

You must keep in mind that a change in lifestyle is not a punishment for you because of your previous bad habits that have affected your health, most especially your heart. Think of it as a good way to change your lifestyle for the better to keep your heart and your body to be healthy for a long time. You do not deprive yourself of foods you want to eat or the activities you want to do; the key to remember here is moderation in everything that you have to do to keep yourself in check and your lifestyle in its proper perspective.
