Bollywood or the Hindi Cinema: Bollywood refers to Hindi language film industry based in the Mumbai (Bombay), and it is the film-producing district in the world. About 800 to 900 movies are made in India per year; almost twice the number Hollywood produces annually. Telugu cinema or Tollywood: Tollywood refers to movies made in Andhra Pradesh in Telugu language. It is the second largest in India in terms of number of movies released per year (after Bollywood). A popular actor called Brahmanandam got Guinness Record for acting more than 750 films in a single Language. About 150 Telugu films are released every year and accounts for 1% GDP of the state. Telugu movies budgets typically range between 7-15 crores per film. Tamil cinema or Kollywood: Kollywood is the name for Tamil language film industry located in Chennai. Over 100 films have been released in the last few years. Movies are a big industry in Tamil Nadu and this film industry accounts for approx. 1% of the of the State's GDP. Oriya Cinema or Ollywood: Ollywood is the name given to the Oriya film industry located in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. They release a film every few years. Punjabi Cinema or Punjwood or Pollywood: Pollywood film industry is located in the state of Punjab and has produced about 1,000 movies so far. Bengali cinema or Tollygunge (sometimes Tollywood): Tollygunge is the name for Bengali language film industry located in Kolkata (Calcutta). About 70 Bengali movies are released every year with a budget of about few lakhs to Rs 2 crore per movie. Other smaller movie industries include: Assamese cinema: In the state of Assam. Malayalam cinema: Kerela State. Marathi cinema: Maharashtra Bhojpuri cinema (Purvanchal): Eastern UP and Bihar.
