The negative impact of depression is much deeper than mere focusing on health related issues. Time is precious; if you are depressed you are spending time not being happy. If you are not happy you must be thinking sad or negative. A mind full of negative and sad thoughts does't harm your body but also affects the psyche of the people around you. A depressed person can't imagine of living one moment with happiness. This is one dream that he can see but can never achieve. At this is what a depressed person thinks like, but the positive behind all depressed discussion is, getting out of depression is possible. And it takes very less time but the only limitation is ignorance. A depressed person is generally ignorant that he is actually depressed.

The worst can happen to a person depressed to see a physician and getting prescription of antidepressant. The body of the patient soon gets habitual to this medicine and that's not the end. You mind becomes immune to the antidepressant but body needs it as a habit. Hence you go on feeding yourself the medicine but without purpose. Moreover the antidepressants have huge side effects like nervousness, vomiting, rapid heart beat, headache, decreased appetite, excessive sweating and what not. The list of side effects is endless, but the point to note that antidepressants is not the solution for depression.

The most logical medicine that can be prescribed to a patient who is depressed is Vitamins. Yes you heard me right, just vitamins. Vitamins have a big impact on the overall development and healthy functioning of mind. Daily dose of multivitamin, and vitamin-B complex is perfect for reducing anxiety levels and increasing the energy levels. Multivitamins also works great in increasing the metabolism of our body. The increased metabolism shows remarkable results. Higher metabolism can motivate you do a small outing and exert yourself. Doing a physical workout produces serotonin and endorphins.

Vitamin-D is also good to fight depression. It is a well researched fact that people do consume very less vitamin D. Sunlight is a source of vitamin-D for our body. During winter there is generally a deficiency of sun light. It has also been observed a great co-relation between winter and depression. 60% of our mind is made up of DHA. Omega-3 fatty acid is source for DHA. Consumption of omega-3 fatty acid is a good remedy to fight depression.

Apart from getting the treatment of depression from medicine, depression can also be treated without spending a dime. The best thing you can do your depressed mind is allow it do some creative work. Let is play a video game, do a bit of physical work out and watch a comedy movie. Talking to your best friend, playing with your pet, giving a small study lesson to your child is another small but very effective ways to fight depression. One thing must be remembered that if you are feeling depressed, never allow yourself to be alone. Always be in a company of your friends, your favorite movie or watch your favorite game. Never let your mind wander here and there.
