The dog foods that you choose for the dogs must be of the best quality. That means the foods have plenty of vitamins, nutrients and other heallthy components. If you love your dogs, then that would be your outright goal.

You must also consider what kind of dog you have to get the right doggy food. The dog's age and breed are important factors to choose which foods are good for them. If you buy them in super markets or pet stores always make it a point to check the labels. The components of the dog food must contain proteins, omega fats, Vitamins A and E. Check the meat content and make sure they are not the 'fillers' type. Check if the foods also contain food coloring as this may have some allergy effects to your dog.

Did you know that dogs like a lot of flavor in their foods? Well, all my dogs look for flavor in their foods. If there is no gravy or sauce in the foods my dogs don't eat them at once; although there are cases the food get consumed in the middle part of the day because they could have gotten hungry at that time so they had no choice but to eat. As for other foods, you can try feeding your dogs some vegetables like carrots, peas, beans or even potatoes combined with a commercial brand of doggy food. This would be a sort of trial and error to check if your dogs would be able to eat these kinds of food. It can also be gradually introduced to your dog so it would be able to adjust; but be alert for any sign of allergy reaction.

I've talked to some dog lovers in my homebase and I was a bit surprised that some feed their dogs raw food. They believe in the BARF diet which means- bones and raw food.. to feed their dogs. They think that raw parts like chicken legs and wings would be good because these have the natural nutrients in them. They also feed them internal organs. They buy all freshly cut parts from market outlets. They claim their dogs are healthy as ever. Okay, but I would take care not to go near their dogs.

There are good brands of doggy foods available everywhere. Other people feed their dogs leftovers from their meals. Others cook foods especially only for their dogs based on some recipes from the internet. I have some friends who do that.

The main important thing to remember is taking care of the dog by giving them the right healthy foods that they deserve. Giving them good healthy food is just one way of giving back the love they give us.
