Fear is a negative emotion. It is not good for you and maybe it does not serve any purpose in your life. It is an emotion that you have to control so that it will not overpower other emotions you have in you. Fear may affect your decisions, attitudes and views about your life. It can become a major problem that you have to face yourself or with the help of family, friends and a qualified counsellor and doctor who specializes on this.

Fear can become a medical condition. That's why we have a term like "phobia' - a feeling of fear about something. It may be a fear of being alone, fear of the dark, fear of enclosed spaces, fear of animals and the list can go long. Doctors who specialize on these kinds of fear try to get into your mind by asking a lot of questions to analyze where such fears are coming from.

The cure against fear has to start with you. If you really want to get rid of your fear you just have to face it... find out the cause of your fear. If you need to recall earlier memories in your life , some good or painful, then you just have to. Try to think rationally about possiblities which cause your fear and note down which greatly affected your feelings that started it.

Sometimes we create our own fear. We worry about so many things at the same time that we are made to believe that our situation is hopeless. The negative things that come to our minds cause stress and anxiety so feeling like this may cause fear to start creeping in.

Most people say that fear is only in the mind. How we think affects our actions and attitudes altogether. If we try to think positive then somehow it eases out the fear in us. So maybe it is the power of the mind- positive over the negative and everything else good would follow. It may need a lot of practice, a lot of help from family and friends and even a good doctor to guide you through this.

Suffice to say, you can overcome fear if you want to. Just think what kind of life you would have if you allow it to control you. You would feel unhappy, hopeless, dysfunctional and lost. So don't let fear ruin your life. You deserve a better life that that.
