I like to stay active so I thought engaging in sports would be the right thing to do. It would help me lose weight, keep fit and develop my skills for the sports activity I wanted to do. Talk about being so positive about this...

In college, it was a requirement in my school to take up swimming as a PE subject. That was just so right for me because I wanted to learn how to swim any way. I was so excited on my first day with a few other classmates who were learning the first lessons in swimming. Our swimming instructor, looking so fit and had "athlete' spelled across her form ( most of us girls looked at her that way) was a former member of the national Olympic team that represented the country. So, I thought I was in good hands, after all.

Well, it turned out wrong. I only learned breast stroke because I had difficulty learning the free style. I often wondered how my other classmates were so good at doing both styles. At the end of the lessons, I got a grade that was good enough to pass the course.

Then I learned how to play volleyball..well, as far as I was concerned I thought I did. I was even a member of my class team. I could serve a pretty fast ball; the trouble was I didn't know how to stop a ball. When the opposing team found about this, most players made it a point to direct the ball to me! You won't believe how may times I've been hit by the ball, so I thought I 'd stop before my head becomes disformed.

As far as other sports are concerned, I like watching basketball. There was a time when I had a favorite team and I knew all the names of the team members and watched every game on TV. I love Michael Jordan to this day. I like watching tennis because I find top seed players Federrer and Nadal cute. I just like to read about golf because I want to know more about Tiger Woods and how rich he has become because of this sport. I admire the Chinese players who can outplay their opponents in a game of table tennis. This game sometime gives me a headache because I have difficulty following the ball; players move the pingpong ball so fast I just see it when it falls on the floor.

My admiration goes for all sports lovers. As much as I love doing sports, I have to accept the reality that I'm not really good in doing them. Some people have the knack for it, some are born into and others just discover they just have the natural talent for it given the proper training. As for me, I've done my best to really get into sports. At the moment, I just enjoy watching others do my favorite sports. That's the best thing I can do at this time.
