The internet has changed our lives forever, can you remember 10 years ago what your life was like without it? You probably still bought a lot of books and surely used them for research if you were in school at the time (there were these things called libraries). You probably bought CD's at a music store, and did all your shopping at places referred to as Malls. When you wanted to see a movie you went to the theatre or rented it from a video store. Now of course everything from ebooks to music to cars to clothes and everything in between can be obtained via the internet. So things are great right? No Issues? I would be remiss in saying that there was, we can even socialize on the net now but, what has really come along recently (say in the last couple of years) that really is unique to the net? It seems that every service and every possible way of doing things has been covered many times over on the net. It just seems to be a copy of a copy of a copy. Sure sometimes with a different color or overlay but the same way of doing things. Well for those of you who feel the same, here is a short compilation of sites, services and offerings that are unique on the net as of today. They may not change the world or change your opinions but they at least try to make an attempt of doing it uniquely. www.ecotonoha.com/index_en.html This site gives you the chance to help the world by virtually clicking a a tree leaf and entering a message, after a hundred clicks a REAL tree is then planted in Austraulia. This site is a unique way of helping the environment one click at a time. www.onepageoneworld.com This site looks different than any you've seen before, covered with thousands of tiny pictures with pop-ups (about 5,000 in all). The site has a message of unity through diversity and tires to show it on a single page. You can also buy space and link your site. Sounds simple but the overall effect is something unique that has not yet been seen on the net. www.pinstruck.com/ Have a bone to pick with someone but you can't do it face to face well then perhaps a voodoo curse is in order. This site allows you to send an anonymous curse to someone on the net via an email you provide. This is surely a unique way to get some closure and since some are susceptible to suggestion merely the hint that they cursed might turn into reality. This is unique way to get your vengeance, net style. www.napalm.net/ For the person who has everything why not get them something truly unique, their own sample of military grade napalm. This is no joke and it's the real stuff. You may not ever have a need for it but in case you do you'll be glad you do. www.dumpmonkey.com/ This site allows you to do that awkward dance of breaking up with someone from the comfort of your own home, just pay a nominal fee and a large monkey will be delivered to your soon to be ex. No more slaps in the face, no more teary eyed begging. This is a unique service for something that we all dread.
