Healthy Pillows- Orthopedic Pillows That Give Comfort and Reduce Body Aches and PainBY: Eve | Category: Health | Post Date: 2009-12-01
There are special pillows that have been created to help correct some body aches and pains that you may be experiencing while sleeping or sitting down. These are the orthopedic pillows which provide the necessary protection and comfort for your body parts. These also help alleviate discomfort for people who are suffering from some medical conditions. These orthopedic pillows may come in different sizes and shapes depending on the need. They may also be made of foam or fiber. Either way, these pillows are useful or they provide healthful benefits to people who need them most. There is now an orthopedic pillow known as the memory foam pillow because it can take the shape or form of your body when you use it. It then returns to its original shape when not in use. It is good to use to relieve back pain. There is also the body pillow which is just about the size of your body and it comfortably supports your body especially when you are sleeping on your side. The neck pillow is a popular kind because you may have used this in one of your travels. Its form is similar to a horse shoe and it fits your neck perfectly well. It protects the neck from too much movement, preventing you from tilting backwards. This is also good for those who experience neck pain. There are other orthopedic pillows which you may find useful to your need. The wedge pillow takes the form of a triangle and is used by people who are used to the diagonal position of sleeping. The cervical pillow follows a curved design that would provide support to the head, neck and shoulders. It keeps the neck properly aligned with the spine. This is used by people who sleep on their backs or sleep in the sideways position. The lumbar pillow supports the lower back and this is good for those who are always sitting down as part of their job. The donut pillow is round with an empty hole in it, just like the donut. This is used by people who experience colon problems and suffering from hemorrhoids. If you're pregnant, you can make use of the quad cushion which is similar to the memory foam pillow; but this is more used by placing it between the thighs and knees to help reduce back pain and provide better sleep. It would be to our advantage if we know about these types of pillows. They can be very useful in helping us get better sleep; provide comfort and protection when we sleep. They can last for about two years. So, if you're having trouble sleeping because you are looking for the right sleeping position; or you can't sleep because of other reasons, just try these pillows. You may find the sleep you may be looking for!
