How To Keep Your Home Clean with Non-Toxic ProductsBY: Eve | Category: Home Improvement | Post Date: 2009-11-24
The home is the one place you have to keep clean and healthy for your family. You do everything you can to make your home free from harmful bacteria and viruses that may come from the environment around us. It is just natural for you to believe most of the well-known products for cleaning the home. You buy them and use them for cleaning. But, are you aware that these cleaning products may cause more harm to you than good? Using them for so long may have kept the chemicals in them spread all over the home thru the air. That said, why not try using natural and safe products instead? I think people who have tried these products call them as green safe cleaning products. Green - because they are natural and they stand for keeping the environment, or Mother Earth, for that matter clean and safe. These products may lessen the adverse effects of harmful chemicals and toxins around your home. Why not try using baking soda? Aside from proving itself as an alternative to toothpaste and as a good underarm deodorant, it can also clean almost all things. You can use it to clean and polish metal, chrome, silver, gold, tin and porcelain. You can use it to clean your jewelry. It has the ability to absorb bad smells and odors. You can place it in the fridge a a deodorizer. You can use it to clean furniture, carpets and linens. Try a good amount of corn starch to clean your rugs and carpets. It is also a good way to clean your windows. You can use it to your laundry. Cornstarch can effectively absorb grease and oil. Try using essential oils like lavender, eucalyptus, cinnamon and others to make your home a relaxing home to come home to. These oils not only have calming effects on you but help keep the air clean, too. You can also use lemon juice to remove stains from your clothes or use it as a deodorizer to keep a fresh-smelling home. It can remove grease from kitchen counters and sink. Another green product is white vinegar which you can use as disinfectant. It can also remove odors, grease, oil and mildew. Maybe it's time that you should be using products that are natural, organic and safe. They are very effective and less expensive compared to well-known cleaning products . Think about it - using them means you're not only taking care of your family but taking care of Mother Earth as well.
