On a personal note, I love shopping. I consider it my personal time, my 'me' time and leisure time. There are other people who look at shopping as merely a household activity that needs to be done right away. This notion takes away the fun and interest of shopping. You just have to look at it another way. You go shopping because you have things that you need for the house. This is grocery shopping- a term I use when I have to do this kind of activity. You go to the grocery to buy food, household stuff and other things that you need to buy. In my case I make it a good habit to make a list of things. This is a practical thing to do because this saves you time and energy. You also have to make sure you know your way around the grocery so choose one that you have been accustomed to for quite some time. There may be times when you have to go grocery-shopping with your kids. This may be a bit of a problem because kids like playing and running around in such a place with a lot of things to see and touch, too. To help prevent this problem you have to talk to your kids and have them understand your purpose of going to the grocery. If they are of school-aged, they would understand, but as for toddlers, well, you just have to be a real mom and do everything you can to keep them in tow. Perhaps you can place them on your grocery cart for safety. You can ask your kids to help you pick up some milk, cannned goods and goodies. Make it fun for them and for you as well by making it a learning activity for your kids. You can ask them to give you a number of fruits, point out to them names of grocery stuff they are not familiar with, help them distingush red apples from the green ones and a lot more. Call that bonding time with your kids. Go shopping when there are big sales and big discounts. You save money and you would be able to get good bargains,too. You can buy stocks good for a week so that saves time as well. It's also good to have someone help you carry all those stuff around. You should also be on the watchout for discount coupons which are very useful when you do your shopping. Shopping for leisure is the best kind of shopping for me. This is the time I shop for clothes and accessories for myself. I enjoy doing this and I really take the time to lounge around department stores, novelty shops and specialty shops. I wait for big sales and discounts before I do my shopping.I take my time and just enjoy looking around. I also go shopping for books especially when there are book sales in the offing. I try to schedule my grocery-shopping every other week and my personal shopping at least once a month. But since the holidays are so near and a lot of sales and big discounts are offered, I may have to do both more often. Fortunately, I have discount coupons, credit cards and enough cash on hand to do this. Thankfully, I know how to control my shopping habit as well.
