A person who always looks good on a picture is the photogenic type. You don't really have to look like a beauty queen or a movie celebrity to look pretty or handsome in your pictures...being photogenic simply means you look good in the picture compared to anyone else with you in it or as solo, you carry yourself well. You just look good on the camera because you have learned to project well in front of it. So how do you become photogenic? Try observing a picture -taking of a group composed of both men and women. If you notice more closely, the men stand straight and stiff on their feet, while the women shift their weight on one foot for a more relaxed pose. This gives the right angle to face the camera. So , remember to shift your weight to one foot to the other to work on your good angle. If you're in a sitting position, you can always try to angle your position to the pose you like. Try practicing what photographers call the 3/4 smile. It is considered the perfect smile at any angle. It is the smile that doesn't show your teeth and gums too much and doesn't make your eyes look like tiny slits on your face. A huge smile on your face won't look good especially if you know you are posing for the camera looking your best. That kind of smile is only good when you're having fun or caught unguarded in your happiest mood. Don't really look straight at the camera. It would be better if you focus a little above the lens of the camera for a more relaxed look. Looking directly makes you look too self conscious. Since you're having your picture taken, be sure to wear good solid outfits that would look good on the picture. If you need to put some make up on, do so because it can enhance your your look. So now you have some tips , just relax, enjoy yourself and feel confident in front of the camera. It would bring out the best in you.
