Inspite of India being so rich in culture, heritage, civilization, resources, population, diversified land base but still it stands miles behind their fellow developed continents like north America, Europe and Australia. The reason that I can relate very closely is education. Education gives you food of thoughts, thoughts shape your brain and then your brain thinks and makes you successful. In India, majority brains do not think. And if at all they think there is no focus. Random is like a journey with no destination. You may travel thousand of miles but you will reach no where. This is called wandering. Majority of people in India do not have focus. You will find people have enough time in India. They will love to share few minutes with strangers, they will love to stand by the road and wait for their bus for hours, they have no problems when their flight or trains gets delayed for few or several hours, they will not have problems, they will not mind if they got delayed due to traffic chaos. You will get an impression that Indians are very patient, but they are not. They are simply ignorant. I know I am making only general statements, few Indians are good and they can be compared with the best brains of the world. Because of these few people, inspite of Indian crowded with all those in efficient people still managed to become the second fastest growing economy of the world. The percentage of such people is very minimal. India has a population of some 15,000 odd million. Even if we start producing 5% percent of achievers form the herd of those 15,000 millions, India will be a different place to live in. So I come back to my point, why India is the way it is? The reason is undoubtedly the education. So lets see how a child gets educated in India. After three years form the day a child is born he/she should start to go to kindergartens. But still nearly half of the children above the age of three never joins a school. We will blame it on the government, and Indian government shows us lack of funds. The earning middle class pays taxes through their noses,, but still there is lack of funds, because the tax network in India is so weak that only hardworking service class people end up paying taxes for almost all of those 15,000 million population. Rich are knowledgeable enough to save taxes and poor's lies below poverty line leave aside their tax paying ability. So tax collection is low so, government does their rationing by cutting their expenditures on education. They have bigger expenditures on Foreign affairs and defense. Lets poor and middle people continue to leave in drains, they will ride on their white cars and spend on defense. What if the next generation of the auto rickshaw driver is forced to drive one for himself. He does not need education, he does not need to become rich and educated, what he needs more is defense. Our government is defending us from whom? These poor people who have no goal and focus in life shall better die in the hands of a terrorist than to live like this. I will stand by my view that India needs education more than anything else. If wants to become on of the developed economies of the world then it needs better education policies, which imparts quality education to one and for all.
