In our present lifestyle, the biggest casualty is our state of mind. Ever increasing cues in front of psychologists/ psychiatrists chambers are the biggest indicators of our deteriorating state of mind. By default you can assume, almost half of the working population is suffering from the problem of hypertension. Hypertension is directly linked to blood pressure. It's very common to hear a person taking medicine for hypertension and blood pressure. But we do not realize that these medicines are making us more and more crippled. Our dependency on these medicines is increasing every day we consume one tablet. We must understand that doctors are paid for prescribing us that medicine, but it is we who not only carries a disease but also becoming slave to our medicines. Generally; the remedy for hypertension and blood pressure lies in changing our lifestyle. Of course this is more difficult than going to the nearest medicine shop and buying a tablet. But in a long run, changing life style is more beneficial.

Let's make a complete overhaul of the food we are eating each day. Start a new life by doing at least a fifteen minute exercise each day. You will notice that without taking a single medicine pill you are able to notice drastic improvements. For people who have moderate problems of blood pressure and hypertension, lifestyle change is highly recommended. For people who have already become addicted to medication for controlling blood pressure, they may start all over gain and see their dependency going down in near future. The medicine for blood pressure and hypertension has big side effects. The least you consume these medicine the better.

- Major changes in your life style require maintaining a strict check on the sodium intake. Salt is the major source of sodium for our body. Person with high blood pressure must drastically reduce the consumption of sodium. Buttermilk, canned foods are also rich in sodium.

- Regular exercising affects a drop in blood pressure even for a normal person. A sedentary life style increases the load on your heart due to fat accumulation on your arteries. In turn your heart has to work extra hard to pump those necessary bloods into the organs. Regular exercising helps in reduction of fat deposition and hence less load on the hearth. Exercising also creates a feel good factor in an individual. The mind is more relaxed and also exercising diverts the attention form the daily hustle and bustle of life. Inactive body creates a viscous circle by accumulating more fat, making you more immobile; in turn you have more spare time and consume more fatty food.

Consumption of food low in fats brings down the blood pressure in human body. Foods like fruits, vegetables, grains are very effective way to having a balanced diet and yet reducing the consumption of fat.
If we have to manage hypertension and blood pressure there are two things we have to concentrate, reduction of fat intake and developing a regular exercise regime. Alcohol and caffeine consumption shall be done to its minimum.
