As a practicing Catholic, I have many religious beliefs. My religion has taught me to believe in a lot of things. Perhaps, I can share them with you..

I believe in one God who is the Creator of all things. Those were the exact words my teacher-nun taught us in my prep class. My memory goes that far. I was taught that God was loving, patient and all-forgiving to everyone. He is the Father to all of us. I was also taught about angels who served as the guardians for everybody. So I really believed that each one of us in my prep class had a guardian angel and we were taught a prayer to pray to our guardian angel. Up to this day, I still pray to my guardian angel for protection and safety for me and my family...and I still know the prayer by heart. I have a favorite angel and he is called St. Michael and there are many more like him.

Then there are the saints who are called such because they have sacrificed their lives for the sake of their religious beliefs, they served God well and followed God's commandments of doing good always especially for others. I have many favorite saints like St. Jude, St.Joseph and St. Theresa. I pray to them as well especially if I ask for small favors where they can really help. I was taught that each saint had a special favor you can ask from because there is a connection to the way they have lived their lives to the favor I was praying for. So I just followed that concept when I am in need of such favors.

Then there is Padre Pio. He is a relatively new- I think he is about to be confirmed as a saint by the Pope and the Vatican. He died in 1968 in Italy. He became popular because of his good works and his kindness to all kinds of people. He was said to have performed miracles on people who sought out for his help. People claimed they were cured of their sickness like cancers, heart problems, broken bones, physical injuries and even personal family problems. He was also famous for his stigmata- the bleeding of his hands and feet similar to the wounds suffered by Jesus Christ on the Cross. People all over the world visited Padre Pio and to see him do his miracles.About five years after his death they found his body still intact, like he was just sleeping. His body is displayed in a special chapel in Italy and more people go there to pray and seek favors from him.

I have personal happy experiences with Padre Pio. With so much faith in him, I prayed for some favors...and they were granted to me. I don't know how to explain it but they came at a time when I really needed help and Padre Pio answered my prayers.

I also believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God who died on the cross for all of us and His Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. I always pray to them. I also pray to the Sto. Nino who is the child-like image of Jesus Christ.

Then there is heaven- a place where there is eternal happiness. It's a place where good people go...you're going to see all the saints and angels.

I have many beliefs about my religion. So far, all my beliefs influence my life. They're my source s of strength and inspiration. My religion has taught be well.
