Saying Goodbye to 2009BY: Eve | Category: Self Improvement | Post Date: 2009-12-15
How do you say goodbye to 2009? It may start with going back to the start of the year and recalling memories , good or bad, happy or sad and whatever feelings you might have recalling those memories. You try to reflect about the decisions you made either right or wrong and the consequences that followed when you made them. Were you able to grab opportunities or wasted them because you didn't think they were there? Did you make the right decisions about important things about work, your love life, family and other issues important to you? As you recall them, try to accept all the good and bad things that happened this year. Try to remember what you should have done and could have done those early months¡K.then resolve to try not to make the same mistakes again. Better yet, let go of them and empty your insides of them, move forward on and keep the faith of doing better in the coming year. Personally, the year 2009 was a bit slow. I was relatively new to the writing field and I was trying to seek writing assignments that I felt would make good use of my writing skills. There were many downs because I think I experienced almost every disappointment every other applicant had experienced such as being turned down and being duped (three times) for writing test articles. The advertisers didn't respond and suddenly disappeared with my articles! I was disappointed with them because they had the nerve to do these bad things online. Well, I knew there were a lot of scams online but, I didn't know that it could happen to me! That was lesson number 1. As I went along with my applications, I was a bit smarter; if they asked for test samples, I chose only those who were willing to pay for those samples. Well, it worked because I got the job with my present employer who paid for the test article, and I'm still currently getting paid! As for my personal life, I'm just lucky I don't have a lot of personal baggage to let go. It's the usual petty things and discussions, no big deal to start World War 3! I remember of letting some job opportunities pass me by because I didn't fully believe in myself that I could do the job. It took me about three months to get over the bad decision I made. It's about a writing job offer I refused because I lacked the self-confidence in me- that I could handle the job. The pay was high for a newbie like me plus many freebies on the side. But I was scared of the responsibilities of the job and I thought I wouldn't be able to handle it. I got over it though when I finally accepted my weaknesses and strengths in this writing job. As of now, I am more confident and I would be more open to training if needed. I also have to thank this writing site for giving me the opportunity to write here- freely, with no boundaries and encouraging me to use my imagination and creativity at the same time. One of the best decisions I made this year was to write here! I'm glad I made that decision! Well, I guess what I'm saying is that you just have to let go of what happened this year. Remember the good ones and try to forget the bad ones. If you want to reflect on certain aspects of your life regarding decisions and whatever you did then, just make sure the bad you did you don't do again. Try to think more positively in the decisions you have to make from now on till the years ahead. If you have bad habits, then get rid of them to improve yourself. Try to accept everything about you; you have your weaknesses which you must try to overcome, and you have your strengths which you should always use to get ahead with what you want in your life. You must change for the better in thoughts, words and deeds. Easier said than done, but you have to start somewhere, within yourself and realize that nobody can do it for you¡Kit's you who has to do it! So adieu 2009, I'm letting you go with good riddance and peace within myself. I'm saying goodbye, letting go and looking forward to a happier year in 2010!
