A strong vocabulary is synonymous with you ability of expression of your thoughts and feelings. If you are a writer, your vocabulary is your right hand. An industrial professional is asked to read and write several emails and letters each day. A powerful build of vocabulary will only increase his understanding and efficiency of work. But the bigger picture that the trivial things discussed earlier is your ability to express. All successful people have always been very expressive. Their ability to communicate makes them so successful. Their ability to make themselves understandable to others has made them so successful. The mail reason behind their advanced expressiveness is their powerful vocabulary. Here we will try to discuss some easy to implement tips that can surely make your vocabulary take that extra jump:

Step-1 - Reading is an automatic way of building your vocabulary
When you read a book, you are actually looking at a sequence of words making sense and emotions within you. This is the best way to learn words without actually knowing the literal meaning of the word. The reading actually teaches you how and where to use your words within sentences. If you are a well read man, then may be your grammar is poor but still you will be able to phrase a perfect sentence. So they step one of building your vocabulary is to read. Read any thing from comic books, short stories, novels, text books, news papers, magazines or even financial reports if you like. Reading dramatically improves your power of expression. A non scholar who has never gone to a school or college can speak better than a graduate just by knowing to read. Reading does two things to you, it adds words to your data base, it tells you when, how and where to use these words and above all it educates you. When you are reading on a particular topic, not only you are gaining information about that topic but you also know possible words related to that topic. In the course of reading you will often come across words that do not make sense. Be prompt in opening your dictionary and know the meaning. After you know the meaning read that paragraph again and comprehend the exact context of the word. Try to read the mind of the writer and try to analyze what the writer must be thinking when he used this word in expressing his feelings.

Step-2 - Imitate your teacher, dad, mom, brother and write letters on their behalf
Writing letters, articles, reports, and essays is the next step in development of automatic vocabulary. Select the topic of your choice. Write about environmental pollution, your favorite movie star, your star football player, virtually anything you can pick to write on. Do a small research on Google and try to jot down your feelings and let your friends and family proof read it for you.

Step-3 - Learn at least one word per week from your dictionary
If you learn one word each week, then you will add four words each month and about fifty words each year. Generally people add less than one word a year to their vocabulary database. You will be 50 times faster than common people. But be sure that you are following the above two steps of reading and writing, one each week
