You can raise your metabolism to burn excess fat of your bodyBY: DrRitu | Category: Health | Post Date: 2009-11-18
You can open a health magazine and you will be bombarded with ads and articles on tips to loose that extra pound of flesh. Every body seems to be an Einstein of weight management. They all will tell give you the information you already knew; burn extra fat by exercising. We all know this well, but our problem is we cannot give our self enough time to do any exercise and hence we gain weight. But I have a plan; I have observed that people gain weight due to variety of reasons. It is important to first realize the root cause of the problem and then try to judge the remedy. It may be realized on analysis that instead of doing the tedious exercising, if we can concentrate of other areas that will also result is weight reduction. We will try to discuss various reasons that results in weighing you more than your ideal weight. If we know the cause we can focus on the solution. Water retention in body, extra carbohydrates and extra sugar are one of the major causes of weight gain. It is true that if you are consuming extra carbohydrates and sugar, then you can burn these extra calories by exercising, but here the focus shall be to reduce the intake of the problematic foods. If I will say that I am jealous of those few lucky people who seem to maintain that ideal weight even though they are consuming all junk foods in the world. We are few unlucky people who for whom even a gram of extra carbohydrate mean accumulation of extra weight. If two people are having the same body structure, they take same foods and doing the same physical work, then they shall maintain a same weight. But in real life this is not the way it is - there is a big fallacy in this assumption. The fallacy lies due the difference of rate of metabolism between person to person. If we can talk more technically then their metabolism rate of managing fatty acid is different. One person's ability to burn extra fat is different from the other. In simple terms, different person has different abilities to break down fat from their diet and consume it as per body requirements. Their body metabolism also help them to dispose off that extra fat if it not required by the body. Hence they never become over weight. Few people have this gift of enhanced fatty acid metabolism rate, and I am not one of them. Now what is the solution, how to increase my metabolism rate? You can indeed increase your overall metabolism rate which in turn means increased fatty-acid-metabolism-rate. But to my disappointment this also requires regular cardiovascular exercise. Yes the most effective method to increase the metabolism rate is to do at least three times a day a cardiovascular exercise like cycling, swimming, fast walking. The objective is to keep the heart rate raised for at lease 20-30 minutes. As you are aging the metabolism rate also fall. A cardio vascular exercise will keep your metabolism rate to its optimum levels. You can burn those extra calories by increasing your metabolic rate.
