Having to complete college education is always a big decision for any person. Most people would opt to finish their college education because they believe it would help them achieve success in the future. It has always been construed that a good college education and having a degree at that is a measure of success. With that in mind, a lot of the youth prefer to have a college degree tucked under their belts for financial and personal security.

But then, life has its own way of measuring success based on the individual's own personal merits and skills. You may have heard of successful people who were not able to finish college, not even having a college degree to boast of. It's a different story for them because they may have their own reasons for not being able to get their degrees. These reasons may vary from financial problems, lack of educational opportunities and scholarships or that they just didn't have the time to finish college because they had to earn and work at their early ages. Regardless, some of the successful people would be able to share with you their secret to success even with out their college degrees. The key is to choose other options to become successful and be the person you want to be.

In the real world, being without a degree may be intimidating and discouraging, sometimes even demoralizing or frightening. But then you have to summon up all your courage to face this dilemma and turn it to a more positive outlook for you. It is a competitive world after all, and to survive it all you just have think positive, focus and think of good ways to put all your skills and knowledge to more useful output.

The first thing to do is to be decisive on what you want to do. Have a definite objective that you can focus on and decide if you really want to do it. There are a lot of choices you can avail of in choosing the career and job you want. Try to match your goals with the job or career that you have in mind. If you need advice, you can always seek the help of employment counselors who would be able to help you do a career evaluation to match your skills.

Try to get into some research and networking that would help you get in touch with successful people, Try to research about popular employment agencies that are hiring and go to their interviews. Informally, you can ask information about how they were able to achieve their success, and you can impress on them that you want to learn from them. You may ask information from interviewers, managers or even business owners who are hiring.

Do try to get involved and attend job trainings, job seminars, work shops, volunteer work groups and other similar activities. These are venues wherein you can show your skills, talent and intelligence. Taking part in these activities would bring about additional skills and expertise, experiences and more technical knowledge on your end. You would be collecting all the certificates of these activities and these are the proof that show that you can tackle any job that would suit your experiences and skills. Make all these efforts to your utmost advantage.

Lastly, be your own person. Be assertive but not imposing. Try to be positive in your conversations with people, inject some positivity whenever you are in a gathering or a situation where you would be able to manage and practice your people skills.

It would always be good to have a college degree, but then it does not really guarantee your success in life. There are a lot of proofs about this and there are a lot of non-degreed people who have been successful and they are coming out to tell their stories. Their success depended on hard work, grabbing and seeking opportunities, good teamwork, and a lot of patience, some luck, more perseverance and self-belief that they could achieve what they had focused on. For all it's worth, that is beyond a college degree.
