No one can deny the importance of customers in any business. Customers are called as boss because without customers no business can generate profits and without profit no business is useful. All of you will agree that happy customers do repeat business with the company and also bring more referrals to the business which in turn will bring more business and ultimately more profit. There are many ways by which a customer can become happy - from most simple ways like shaking hand with walk-ins to unique ways like offering them something extra with their purchases. You might have heard many times that even if the customer is wrong they should be treated in a way that they are right. This is important because a disgruntled customer not only stop visiting the shop forever but also spread bad word of mouth which negatively affects the business publicity and thus work towards decreasing the customer flow into the shop. Being nice to the customers is very important and plays a vital role in the success of any business. There are many ways the shopkeeper or the owner of the business can be nice to their customers. Being nice to the customers is important both in service industry as well as when you are offering products to the clients. Many simple and cost effective ways can be used to make customer feel that they are important and central for the business. One of the most easy and appealing ways to being nice to the customers is to say thank you to them. A simple thank you really got the power to make customers feel special and generate more referrals because it provides such an experience that many people would like to share with their friends and colleagues. Following are a few things you must note while saying thank you to your customers for the business they have had with you: • Make it personalized and avoid going for corporate stuff. No doubt it will be a source of advertisement as well but don't focus on advertisement too much as it will demolish your real purpose of making customer feel special. Focus on something more personalized, something representing you and your customer or the deal you recently have. • Be on time - it is very important to be on time because there is no use of sending a card after a month or so. Try to mail the card within one week of customers' deal with your company. • Don't make it too short. Card which only says "Thank you" or "Thank You for your business" is just a waste of money and efforts you put in to mail the card. Make a special note reading which the customer will feel that he is being remembered by the company. • Sending a thank you email would not be as effective as a personalized card sent through post because being free of cost emails are not considered as good as cards. Moreover a card will help you stay unique because many of your competitors might be sending thank you emails to the clients too. So if you desire to do something different which also help you stand out of the crowd you must go for the thank you cards. • You can even send thank you card or a thank you call to the people who have asked about your business or showed interest in having a deal. It is good because it might be possible that if the person is not yet your customer he will become one after receiving your card or call. Remember you need to be nice to the customers because they are the soul of any business and without a considerable number of customers you won't be able to reach the desired sales and ultimately end up in having lower or no profits. So try to be nice to the customers and never miss an opportunity to show to the customers that they are important. Keep in mind only a sign of remembrance and appreciation might help you have extra clients due to word of mouth and also the repeat purchases from the same client.
