John Keats said "A thing of beauty is a joy forever" and of course a relationship which is full of love and affection is what brings comfort to your life. It gives you strength to overcome the hurdles of life. But the relationships can only be a source of joy when they are strong. To build strong relationships every one should focus on certain key aspects discussed below:

Role of Trust in Relationships

Trust is the key in any relationship; lack of trust can lead towards misunderstandings and misconceptions. This misunderstanding causes suspicion which generates enmity and ultimately the relationship becomes weak enough to break easily. Following example will help you understand how misunderstanding can ruin a relationship. A house wife called a number which she found in her husband's pocket while washing to know whose number is this. A girl picked up the phone and answered, "Good Morning this is Public Utilities Board, How May I Help You?" but the wife didn't answered and remained silent and the operator after repeating the same line two more times hanged up the phone. Just imagine what the wife would have assumed if the operator would have answered the phone with "Hello" instead of the whole operator phrase. Without mutual understanding and trust no relationship can be successful. Therefore it is very important to trust each other to live a happy life.

No Pointing Fingers

A girl asked her mother-in-law, "Dear Mom, lots of people praise you for your successful marital life; can you please share the secret with me?" Her Mother-in-law replied with proud eyes and smile, "Remember, Never criticize your husband for his weaknesses and shortcomings because it is these shortcomings and weaknesses due to which he could not find a better wife than you".

Everyone on this face of earth desire to be loved but this world works on a "give and take" principle. If you want to be loved and praised you have to give love and respect first. Never put your actions' consequences on others. Accept your mistakes because all human beings make mistakes in some part of their lives, it is good to accept them and learn from them rather than considering others responsible for it.

Be Patient

Patience in relationships is utmost important because once you say or do something it is irreversible. You must control your anger and try to control your nerves at all times to avoid any mishap which can't be rectified later on. There are examples where people have taken severe actions due to lack of patience on which they have repented later on. So be patient while dealing with your loved ones or while tacking any issue in life.

Building a Perfect Relationship

Some people expect too high from others and when those expectations are not met the relationship start becoming weak. Therefore you must try to limit your expectations; your behavior should be accommodating. Following example will help you understand what I am talking about. A man was writing down his requirements for a perfect wife in a marriage bureau. He wrote: "I need a girl who is pretty, polite, have a good sense of humor, educated (knowledgeable), have a nice voice (she can sing and dance with me), be able to give proper time while I am at home during my leisure time, can tell nice stories and if I wish to go to sleep she remains silent and must not disturb me". The marriage officer wrote as comments: "he doesn't need a wife he needs a television".

A perfect match can only be found with luck; as such no relationship is perfect unless and until one partner is blind (wife) and the other one is deaf (husband). There are shortcomings in every relationship but one must not underestimate their partner for any reason. One should try to fulfill the missing element in their partner with love and care. Make your conversations with your partner as polite as possible, remember the ups and downs are a part of life and you both have to grip each others hands tightly to pass every situation of life easily. No one is perfect on this earth so never expect it, be patient and understand each other. Don't forget "Positive Life is Only Possible When You Think and Act Positively".
