Can Religion Help us Find What we Are Doing in This World?BY: Anisa Author | Category: Religion | Submitted: 2010-07-12 01:09:43
Religion is a very vast topic. It encompasses many things and has an answer to every problem. Sometimes we are so much disappointed but by remembering god and thinking that worldly stuff is just temporary gets a bit of satisfaction. Religion guides us in our lives and shows us the path. You must have noticed many times that the answers given by religion for any problem solves the issue ultimately. It might be possible that at first glance you think that the answer is not realistic or not sufficient like when religion says to be satisfied with what you have, might possibly give you the view that religion is restricting your drive to move ahead in life but actually if the religion doesn't says so you might get into chronic busyness and greed (just to achieve more and more) which will ultimately lead you to extreme unhappiness. Thus the answers given by religion are just what you need to lead a happy life. Many of you have felt many times in your life that it is useless to be in this world and there is no point in doing so many worldly things and dying one day leaving everything behind. Can religion answer this issue as well, i.e. what we are doing here? Well, of course yes. Religion has answer to every query generated by human mind. I will talk about Islam. What Islam has to say about what we are doing in this world? Islam is the religion of nature and promotes thinking and vision. It says if humans are not supposed to think they would not have given the brain; they would be like animals then. Thus the foremost purpose of human life is to think, think about our purpose, about the existence of god, about the teachings, about the procedures on which nature works and many more. It says we are sent to this earth to think on our very own existence - the soul. As every human being on this earth is well-aware of the fact "death" and no one can deny it. One can't expect to live in this world forever, therefore there is a need to give some time daily to ourselves and sit in silence to give a deep thought to why we are here in this world. Secondly, the concept of angels is one of the basic concepts in Islam and Islam says that angels were enough to pray and praise god then it arises a question itself to give humans a line to think on that if angels were enough why humans were sent to this earth. So if angels were enough, god doesn't want us only to pray and praise Him all the time i.e. our purpose is not only to say prayers rather we are sent on this earth for some greater purpose. That greater purpose as per Islam is the recognition of self. Well self-recognition is not only to recognize our worldly powers but also the spiritual ones. It is said that there is nothing impossible for humans. If they realize, they have such capabilities that they can even destroy mountains with only one signal of eye. Thus there is a need to understand one's power and capabilities. Thirdly, the purpose of human life is to know where one belongs to. To understand our actual place and to return in our thoughts to the place where we have come from is the purpose of our life. It is all quite interesting - the beginning of human life and the place from where we belong. It's all a new world where we can go in our thoughts daily when we sit in silence and just think about our purpose. Try it once and see where you will find yourself raising up, high and higher. Each day while thinking about yourself, you will find yourself moving one step ahead and finding yourself going towards your ultimate destination. It's an experience which will make you feel light and lighter each day and you will find yourself much calm and relaxed. Sometimes you will be annoyed not finding a single thread to connect and move on but keep searching. You will find many things behind closed eyes and soon you will be able to see with closed eyes what you can't see with the opened ones.
