Certain Healthy Foods That Help You Lose Weight and Still Enjoy Eating

Wouldn't it be great that you would eat certain favorite foods and lose weight in the process? Well, it is now possible because there are now particular foods that fight fat and don't add it to your body. Knowing these types of foods would give you the idea to plan your meals well throughout the day.



Breakfast

1. Cottage cheese contains whey protein which keeps you full till your next meal. Look for the low fat kinds.
2. Egg whites have amino acids that help develop lean muscles that increases metabolism in the body. You can combine with low fat cheese for more taste.
3. Oatmeal in its natural and plain form has no sugar. This helps in maintaining your blood sugar levels. You can put some cinnamon or nuts for better taste.


Lunch

1. Sushi is one meal you can have for lunch. It is filling with fewer calories and contains enough protein. Try to avoid the fried kind or those served with mayonnaise.

2. Spread some peanut butter on a toast, but limit it to about a teaspoonful. Two tbsp of peanut butter is about 190 calories so check your portions.

3. Beans are full of anti-oxidants, fiber and protein. You can have this instead of meat since it can be filling. You can combine in soups, chili and make fresh salads. Half a cup of beans is about 150 calories only so you are assured of your nutrients for the meal.

4. Fat-free plain yogurt has fewer calories compared to mayonnaise. Use it to make fresh veggie salad or combine with tuna to make some fresh tuna sandwich or combine with mustard for some perky taste.

5. Lemon is mostly used as light dressing in salads. It is also good to complement your fish, pork, veggies and chicken meals. The taste would be fresh and a bit sharp but then iot does not hide the tasty flavors of your foods.




Snack


1. Energy bars are better than regular chocolates or candy bars because they contain lesser calories.

2. Carrots can be good snacks because these are high in fiber and low in calories. They taste sweet and fresh as well as it can help you satisfy your nibble cravings.

3. Soy chips have protein and are fewer in calories compared to your regular chips.

4. Part-skim string cheese is an energy booster after a good workout. You can get sufficient protein and calcium per stick you eat. One stick is about 80 calories, and you can complement a stick with a few whole grain crackers to fill you up longer.

5. Hummus has protein and healthy fats. You can combine with mushrooms, celery and broccoli. It is a good snack to fill you up before your next meal.

6. Edamame has fiber and ¾ cups equals to about 190 calories. The taste is a bit salty but can satisfy your hunger bursts.

7. Dried fruit contains fiber and with almost no fat. You can eat this instead of candy or chips. Just reduce your intake to about ¼ cup because calories in them are concentrated.


Dinner

1. Shrimp can be sautéed with little olive oil, teriyaki sauce, bell peppers, carrots, snow peas and some mushrooms. Shrimp has lesser calories compared to chicken and beef.

2. Pizza can be a healthy option if you make it your own healthy way. You choose and control the ingredients you put in it. You can use a Boboli pizza crust and use red onions, fresh spinach, and black olives topped with low fat cheese and a tsp of olive oil. You can add more veggies on your pizza to have more fiber. Your calories would be lessened and you would lose more weight in the days to come.

3. Tofu contains about 50 calories per 3 ounce slice. You can cook it by stir fry, barbecue it, or you can combine it with lasagna. You can combine with blanched spinach and some soy sauce for a refreshing salad. You can also freeze some slices of tofu, let it thaw for a few minutes then cook. It would give a chewy taste similar to chicken and beef.

4. Salsa is convenient in almost anything you may want to eat. You can put it on omelets, grilled chicken or pork, grilled fish like salmon and tuna or use some on baked potatoes. Two tbsp of salsa has lesser calories than sour cream. Bottled salsas are rich with lycopene (fights cancer) and contain less fat.

5. Poached chicken is healthy and saves cooking time. You can just hash it up with some fresh herbs and spices. It also has lesser calories especially when eaten just as it is.

6. Sweet potatoes is better than white potatoes s because they contain lesser calories and won't affect your blood sugar levels. Slice some and bake with some olive oil similar to baked fries but with lesser calories. You can also use as side dish to your grilled fish or chicken.



Sweets

1. Baked apples are high in fiber so you lose weight easily. Put some diet cherry soda on it, add a little cinnamon and microwave for about 8 minutes. You would have an instant apple pie with lesser calories in it.

2. Fat-free Cool Whip per serving is about only 15 calories and you can use this as a flavorful topping. You can freeze 2 tbsp of this enclosed between 2 graham crackers and you would still not worry about adding weight.

3. Frozen fruit is low in calories filled with fiber and water to fill you up longer. This kind is usually sweet in its natural form and can be eaten as dessert.

4. Fudgesicles are creamy and are usually the no sugar types. You can have them as treats since they contain only about 40 calories so you can enjoy them more.

5. Fat-free, sugar-free pudding is about only 80 calories per half cup of serving. You can indulge on it instead of ice cream or any other regular cake.

6. Angel food cake is about 72 calories per ¾ inch slice with no fat contained in it. It is good to eat with fruit and fat free Cool Whip.



Drinks

1. Fat-free hot chocolate is only about 50 calories and this gives you the taste of real chocolate. Combine and blend with ice and a cup of skim milk to make a healthy milk shake.

2. Virgin mimosa is mixing orange juice with diet ginger ale. It contains about 55 calories and is lesser in calories compared to other mixed drinks. You don't gain weight because it contains lesser alcohol and this kind of drink prevents you from overeating.

3. Herbal tea prevents overeating because this drink relaxes you and relieves the tensions in your body. Vanilla tea is a good kind if you are looking for something sweet, tasty and satisfying.


So you now know that a good healthy diet does not always mean you have to deprive yourself of some of your favorite treats. The key to remember here is knowing which foods are less in fat, less in calories and knowing of innovative ways to make them healthier for you. Having these foods works both ways for you; you don't gain weight but you can still enjoy eating to your heart's content!
