A recent study has shown that a major hurdle in the way of dieter to lose desired number of pounds is 'CRAVINGS'. Well, the exact results of the study shows that 53% of the people are distracted from healthy diet due to sweets, 38% of the people are distracted due to salty food items, whereas 9% declared boredom and emotional eating as a distracter. This shows that there must be a solid way to get rid of these food cravings so that one can easily carry on with their diet plan and not only achieve a slim figure but also a healthy lifestyle.

For those who want to get rid of these strong food cravings, following are a few tips:

You must have noticed many times that if you keep yourself away from doing certain thing you definitely end up doing it. It is human nature that when refrained from a certain task a more intense desire is developed to do that; similar to when we stop our kids to touch a certain thing, a curiosity is developed in them to know why my parents have refrained me of it. So, the first suggested way to get rid of these strong cravings is to overindulge. Well, yes you have read it right. You must treat yourself extraordinarily with all you want, say once every two weeks. Eat chocolates, French fries, mayo, cream, pastries and everything you want. Don't think I am not in my senses while giving you this suggestion and disturbing your whole diet plan. The major reason behind this suggestion is that it gives you motivation to stay on track and follow your diet plan strictly in anticipation to get the treat later sometime. Set a plan for yourself and your treats and stick to it to stay motivated and enthusiastic.

Another trick to stop these food cravings so that you may not get distracted from your diet plan is to control your mind. Well, by controlling your mind I mean you should stay focused and make it an automatic process for you. This comes when you involve yourself in activities that can help you deal with your mental cravings. You may have noticed many times that you feel hungry when you have nothing to do or when you are getting bored. This is not because you are actually feeling hungry but actually you are getting bored and thus feeling mental cravings which can be satisfied by involving yourself in something you like to do. Eating at that time will not only disturb your eating patterns and diet plan but will also leave you desiring more. So identify the activities that interest you so that you can automatically switch to those activities whenever you feel mental cravings.

Another thing that leaves you crave for food is mental stress; get rid of stress so that you can get rid of these cravings. Do not fall prey to emotional eating for this is the most common reason of fatness among stressful people.

Another way to get rid of these food cravings is to take naturally sweetened minerals once a day that will not only satisfy your cravings for sweet but will also provide required minerals to your body so that you can stay healthy. A recent research shows that drinking too much water deprive your body from magnesium and to utilize that water properly your body needs magnesium; therefore you must fill this mineral gap and balance magnesium with other complimenting minerals like calcium, potassium etc. This will give your taste buds sweet taste too thus you can go on with your diet plan as usual without craving for sweet foods anymore. The best time to take these minerals is right before going to bed so that you can follow your diet plan strictly the whole day long, waiting for the night to satisfy your cravings for sweet. This trick may not be applicable for those who eat sweets like junkies but it can help those who prefer having a slim and smart figure over their cravings for sweet and who can control themselves, compromising on a few things to achieve a few things.

Moreover, beware of the fact that it is not always cravings which you are classifying as cravings. Feed yourself at proper intervals and fulfill the daily calorie requirement, don't go beyond but basic requirement fulfillment is important to stay healthy. Don't let yourself starve for food in name of dieting, this will only snatch your strength and leave you sick.
