Let's face it, finding a job is harder than ever before. Well, are you looking for the right things and does your resume have all that it needs to have? Sure fires resume needs to have a few key things. If you don't have this, you could be missing out on some great opportunities for interviews. Let's take a look at some of those things shall we? The length of your resume is one thing to consider. The person you are sending this to do not want to have to page through a number of things. Therefore, you want to keep your resume to one page. Some of you thought might have more than five years worth of experience. Only list those things that are relevant. Keywords are everything as well. You want to sell your skills, but remember the least is better. Make sure that your resume speaks to the employer. Think about it this way. The employer is in a jam. They have a problem on their hands. You could be the answer to that problem. Therefore, they don't want someone who is late and who doesn't read the requirements. For instance, if it says must have Bachelor's degree, you might be wasting their and your time. You want to make sure that your resume is readable as well. You don't want to have to make the person put his or her reading glasses on. The pros will tell you that your resume should be twelve fonts and no snazzy font styles either. You want them to be able to read it. Make sure that everything is aligned just well. You can find templates on the word program that you are using normally. Use them, there's nothing wrong with that. Correctness is another thing you want to aim for. You want all the current information to get a hold of you. You want your spelling to be proper. If you aren't sure how to spell a word, then look it up. It's just as simple as that. Even how you format your resume needs to be proper. This might seem simple enough, but you wouldn't believe how much of a problem this is for some people. Now, you might be saying what if I don't have that much work experience? Then fill in that space with skills. There are many of us who have been through this. You have to start somewhere. You might have done an internship. You might have used some of the skills you would be using in your every day life. Give examples of that. This will allow you to get your resume noticed. When you just start with these things, you improve your chances greatly. So, try it out. Look at what you can do for your resume. Hard times call for hard measures. With everyone seeking the same job you are, you have to be pretty creative in order to get your foot into the door as they like to say in the business world.
