Healthy Breakfast Ideas:

Selecting a good and healthy breakfast with correct ingredients is very important to make you feel wonderful the whole day long. People who want to reduce weight thinks that if they miss breakfast it will help them achieve their goal but to their amazement skipping breakfast would lead them put on weight because it makes the metabolism sluggish which in turn don't work properly to burn fats and calories.

To make your selection of healthy breakfast easy, here is a "rule of fives":

5 (or More) Grams of Protein:

Take those items for your breakfast which contain at least 5 grams of proteins. Breakfast items like low fat yogurt, extra lean ham, cottage cheese, egg whites, skim milk, bacon and many other items fulfills this requirement. If you are out in the market to purchase breakfast items skip those which doesn't fulfill protein requirement because due to lack of proteins you might feel hungry sooner.

5 (or More) Grams of Fiber:

It's not enough for the breakfast to taste good rather it should also be rich in fiber to satisfy your health needs. Breakfast items like whole wheat bagels and whole grain cereal do provide fiber whereas whole wheat bread and oatmeal don't provide fiber.
Adding fruits to your breakfast is always a good idea, but this does not mean you can only eat fruits in breakfast because only fruits don't provide sufficient nutrients. Thus you must balance your breakfast by adding fruits to it rather than using it alone.

Some of the healthy breakfast ideas include:

1. Whole Grain Cereal (one cup), skim milk and fresh fruit (half cup each) contains 276 calories, 10gm fiber and 11gm protein
2. Whole wheat bagel (small), peanut butter (1 tbsp but it should be reduced-fat) and fresh fruits (one cup) contains 384 calories, 12.3gm fiber and 20gm protein
3. Granola bar (one [high fiber]), one banana and skim milk (8 ounces) contains 365 calories, 12gm fiber and 13.5gm protein

Healthy Dinner Ideas:

After facing hectic work throughout the day we become so tired that at the time of dinner we just want to eat anything irrespective of whether it's healthy or not so as to avoid lengthy procedure involved in preparing a good and healthy homemade food; whatever the situation is you should not compromise on your health. Following are some of the quick dinner ideas which are healthy too.

Idea # 1: Sandwiches

Sandwiches are the simplest and healthy item for your dinner; you don't need to go to Subway or Quiznos to take sandwiches because it can come out right from your own kitchen in few minutes. Take wheat bread and for topping you can take tuna and lean meat, salt, pepper and mustard. At the end don't forget to decorate with few slices of fruits and vegetables which will provide extra nutrients too.

Idea # 2: Salads

Salad is another good and healthy food for your dinner. It only takes a few minutes to prepare the salad at home however you can take prepared packet from the market, but fresh salads are preferable. Take 2 lettuces and add tomato / oranges. Serve with vinaigrette or any other non fat dressing, but don't mix crunchy cube of bread or bacon.

Idea # 3: Chicken

If you want to eat a formal dinner, you need not to be worried. Take a packet of chicken breasts from market and cook it; it will just take 30 minutes. Avoid frying chicken as it will increase oil consumption leading to unhealthy food. For your future menu you can store chicken packets in your freezer. You can add salad to your menu with chicken.

Idea # 4: Fruit salad

If you want to have some variety in your dinner you can make fruit salad. Fruit salad is easy and tasty, chop up apples, oranges, watermelons, and any other fruit according to your mood. Fruits have vitamins that keep you healthy.

Always remember, proper diet is very important for a healthy living. You can also add exercise in your daily routine to remain fit. Bear in mind, it is better to give sometime to your health than to live an unhealthy life. So stay healthy to live a happy life!
