Household Budget Management to Make Savings Possible!BY: Anisa Author | Category: Finance | Submitted: 2010-07-15 07:16:41
Managing household budget is important because in today's world where inflation has overtaken every limit, if a person fails to manage his household budget he will end up with empty pockets and in time of need may need to ask someone else's help. This is even bad because less income and more expenditure results in debt which ultimately ruins ones life. To manage household budget one must start with understanding this concept. Household budget management is a process of managing the expenditures of a household and keeping track of ones money so that they can make savings possible too. Savings are very important because need never comes after informing. Things are becoming over-expensive and two most important needs of today's life - health-care and education are becoming too expensive day by day and one can't stay a prosperous life without these two things. Other than these, savings are important for overall well-being of ones life but it is only possible if you are able to mange your money well. While managing your household budget consider following tips to do it appropriately: • Keep in mind your income and decide on the expenses of a particular month. Identify the urgent and important expenses and plan accordingly. It is just ridiculous to spend on eating out when you don't have money to pay your rent. • Managing income and expense is best possible by making an income-expense sheet. Do it on page or computer, whatever you feel comfortable with and write down even if you have to buy something worth $1. This will help you know where you have spent your money in previous month and how you can curtail some of the unnecessary expenses to initiate savings. • Bear in mind that desires can only be satisfied with the passage of time, if you wish to have everything in one month you will end up having nothing. Know how to limit your desires and try to live within your resources. A beautiful quote by Calvin Coolidge says "There is no dignity quite so impressive and no independence so important as living within your means. • Never try to show off and be within your incomes. Showing off will only exaggerate your status in people's eyes as well as in your own eyes too and you will end up in frustration while meeting that false status quo set by yourself. Know how to be within your budget to live a happy life. Francis Moore said "The most substantial people are the most frugal, and make the least show, and live at the least expense." • Avoid unnecessary shopping because it has been noticed that when people have money they spend like anything till the time they are left with zero balance to spend on unexpected expenses. • Keep some money save for bad times. • If you are making budget sheets from some time, see the previous month list to check which expense was unimportant or unnecessary, curtail that and save that money if there is no other urgent or important expense. • Everyone do have kids but many of them don't find it necessary to buy a new pair of shoes or clothes for them every month, see if you can think that way too. • Eating out brings enjoyment but it is not a must if you can't manage things later on. So know when you can mange eating out and when you can't. • Find out some ways to increase your income. This will give you a way to manage your expenses more efficiently but don't make yourself too busy that you can't enjoy moments with your family or can't give time to yourself. If you haven't yet started with managing a monthly expense sheet, get a sheet ready just by today so that you can start working on it from the up coming month. It is very important because if you don't keep hold of your money you won't be able to live a happy and prosperous life. Keep in mind not all desires are to be fulfilled then and there as John Stuart Mill said "I have learnt to seek my happiness in limiting my desires, rather than attempting to satisfy them."
