Extra curricular activities seemed to have a significant and serious decrease in schools and schools districts across the country. From Alaska to Florida, Hawaii to Maine and all states in between have seen the necessity to prune the funding. This fund cut affects many areas including art, music, drama to sports programs and more. This budget cut has severe consequences as students need these activities. Said activities are essentials for a complete and comprehensive education every student deserve. Among many concerns, one thing that should not be dismissed is the importance of music education. Compared to the other western countries, Americans are quite behind in mathematics as opposed to other subjects. Music is important in this equation as it is based on math. When you underline the importance of music education, you are boosting the education of mathematics at same time. This is one of the most prominent things one needs to consider as they muse on the important of music education. Aside from the obvious positive side (a child lost in his or her guitar or trumpet playing are definitely not likely to venture into trouble as opposed to a bored kid wishing for simply something to do) the importance of music education is also apparent in other ways as proved by quite a number of researches. It is quite well known that music and academic success are strongly connected. Throughout the world, countries which have the most academically superior youngsters, be it countries in the Europe, Americas, Asia, or Africa, also have thriving and complete music education programs, ones that sometimes start at the early age. The importance of music education can't be stressed too much as it helps and improves the grasping of mathematical concepts, both the basic and the advanced. Music education that starts early also helps stabilizing emotions of children who are just getting used to working in a group. Music concerts require that you create or generate harmony with the people around you, as you play the piano for them or sing with these people. The ability to achieve this helps developing the ability to collaborate in working environment when these children grow up. A number of reports have been proving the importance of music education as these reports show that most of the top executives and engineers who work for companies of the Silicon Vallies success are either still receiving or used to be recipients of music education. You might think it is too far a stretch to connect playing the recorder in second grade with making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year when you become an employee. Still, the information collected so far confirms the importance of music education, an education that serves as a big factor in success. Music education plays a big part in predicting the success in college as well as contributing to the stability of students' emotion levels during exams. The ability to work as a team and to collaborate also underlines the importance of music education. Undeniably, the importance of music education has proven itself within the academic curricula.
