There are many relationships in our life, some already exists and some are created as we move on in life. Out of all the relationships the most dependable and I must say the most precious relationship is between parents and their kids. If we analyze deeply we will find out that we can manage to live without many relationships but when it comes to kids to live without their parents, they just can't manage. I am not talking about the grown ups, it's about the younger ones. Of course they don't know how to cope up with life and how to take care of themselves. Thus out of all other relationships, the bond between parents and their kids is the most important one because it is the parents who builds the foundation of a kid's life on which his/her whole future will depend. Barack Obama, current U.S. President also acknowledge this fact in his Father's Day article for Parade Magazine that kids need their parents the most and specially when they are in struggling stage of their lives. Thus there is a need to improve parenting skills to provide the best future to our kids. There are a few things every parent should consider to become exemplary and to make sure their kids are not neglected and are getting enough to build their castle of dreams. 1. Don't let your emotions distract you from your responsibility towards your kids. It happens many times in our life that we are mentally absent due to so many reasons like financial instability, or a casual fight with our spouse or we are too busy taking care of other matters that we neglect our kids. This must not happen and kids should never have a feeling that they are not in your priority list. If they ever feel so they will start finding others who pay attention on them and it is when a child can go in wrong hands. So always pay attention to your kids so that in any trouble they will turn to you for assistance. 2. Show love to your kids. When your kids are young you can show your love to them by hugging and kissing but as they grow up the ways to demonstrate love also changes like then you can give a pat on their back and so on, so show your love to them. Scolding is also appropriate at times but too much scolding or scolding at every occasion is not good or they will start hating you. 3. It is important to expect from your kids and communicate that expectation appropriately to get the desired behavior. You must appreciate your kids when they fulfill your expectations. Moreover it is very important to make your kids realize that what their limitations are. They must understand it and accept it by heart and this will only happen when they are convinced about it, for example your daughters must understand that how they must dress to look graceful and your sons must know that any act of violence on TV is not appropriate and the true meaning of life is hidden in achievement and hard work. 4. Pay attention to the schooling of your kids because good schooling will ensure good future. What kids will learn when they are young will decide what they will become when they grow up. Research thoroughly before sending your kids to any school. Take a look at the syllabus, see the environment and meet teachers and heads of the school to make sure your kids' future is in safe hands. 5. Embed good culture and norms in your kids. Your kids should know what is wrong and what is right and this will only come when you teach them both aspects clearly. Remember when kids are young they are curious about everything, whether good or bad so you should also expose them to bad (according to their age) but it is important to let them know that it's bad and give them reasoning to justify your point and convince them. Because they will only stay away from the bad when they are convinced. 6. Make sure you perform and promote good acts in front of your kids, like charity, humbleness, truth, honesty, cleanliness etc as kids learn quicker when they observe things.
