Important Things to Remember at an InterviewBY: Deidre Dorsett | Category: Careers | Submitted: 2010-06-27 07:06:31
It might have been a long time or it might be your first time in going to an interview. Do you know the things you need to remember? Not many people do. This is where this article is going to help you. When you get done reading this article, you will be a pro at interviewing. So, here are a few things to remember. The first thing you want to do is know who you are meeting and when. This looks bad if you don't know who you should be asking for. Make sure that now since you have the time you should be meeting them, you are early. You want to arrive at least ten minutes early so you can find the place you are supposed to check in at as well as calm yourself so you don't look over nervous. They might even have you take a test or something more, this is another reason you should get there early. It used to be that they would tell you to plan on an hour for an interview. The same holds true, but you might want to plan for more. If they like what they see, since now days you just simply send in your resume, they might make you fill out an application or they might make you take a speed test on writing or data entry. Make sure you have proper body contact throughout the interview. This means that you want to look the person in the eyes as you speak. You don't want to slouch. You don't want to fidget either. You want to sit up straight and be as composed as can be. You want them to know that you are paying attention to what they have to say and that you are finding the conversation flowing well. The other thing you want to look at is how you dress. For some interviews, khakis are fine and dandy, but the more upscale the place is, the classier you want to dress. When you do this, you show them that you dress for success. Make sure that you touch up with make up and under no circumstances are jeans allowed at an interview. This will give you a thumbs down in no time flat. You also want to remember that you need to then make sure they know that you enjoyed the time you had and that you do look to hearing from them. Get a business card at the interview so that you can send a proper thank you card to them for taking the time out of their busy schedule. Then send it the day of after the interview. When you do this, you are being polite. Article Source: http://www.writearticles.org/ About Author / Additional Info: Comments on this article: (0 comments so far)
