In the recent years, the highlights of Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPH) launch have been the Suzuki SX4 Crossover hatchback and the upgraded Suzuki SX4 Aero sedan along with the new Suzuki Celerio. Suzuki SX4 Crossover hatchback | Upgraded Suzuki SX4 Aero sedan The model was first introduced in 2006 Geneva Motor Show, originally intended to be marketed in Europe only. The Suzuki SX4 Crossover was designed as a five-door hatchback by Giorgetto Giugiaro's Italy design studio, a hallmark in the world European automotive design. The Suzuki SX4 Sedan later found a market in the US with its launch at the New York Auto Show in 2007 and a year later, another one in the Philippines when the car was introduced by Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPH). Mid 2009 saw the company bringing out the new model of Suzuki SX4 Crossover. New features include the honeycomb front grille, roof rails, fender arch and 16-inch alloy wheels. Better fuel efficiency as well as more power available for the system is the highlight of the new M16A engine, a 1600cc 16-valve DOHC engine with variable-valve timing (VVT). Combined with the 4-speed gate-type automatic transmission, the car can produce the maximum output of 110 hp at 5,600 rpm and maximum torque of 150 Nm at 3,800 rpm. Passenger safety is insured by the body of the car that features high rigidity utilizing Total Effective Control Technology (TECT). The Suzuki SX4 Crossover hatchback is also fully equipped with safety measures like dual air bags, anti lock brakes and keyless entry. Visual information center is served by instrument cluster, offering data concerning fuel range, a fuel consumption gauge and digital clock. Luxury is provided by plush seat fabrics, all power features and inner door handles made of chrome. The new Suzuki Celerio The new Suzuki Celerio is a good suit for young executives looking for 'fast car' as it comes in an aerodynamic, racer look, one that looks like it can race the wind. Beneath its glamorous look, the car design is also fuel consumption friendly due to its ability in reducing drags with its steeply raked windshield and wedge-shaped profile. This is especially true when the car is ran at high speeds. The large halogen multi-reflector headlights and foglights are another set of of features that complete the sporty look. The new Suzuki Celerio comes in five different exterior colors - Arctic White Pearl Metallic, Silky Silver Metallic, Desert Brown Metallic, Fortune Rose Pearl Metallic, and Paradise Blue Pearl Metallic. The two tone grey hue adopted in the cabin finish give a classy look in addition to the fully functional and sporty looking dashboard. The dashboard layout makes it easy for drivers to drive and navigate. For more added feel of sporty look, the rev counter or tachometer is mounted separately on the dashboard. Comfortable ride is afforded by fabric bucket seats while keeping passengers firmly in their seats when lateral motion occurs. With 3,500 mm in length, 1,600 mm in width and 1,470 mm in height, the new Suzuki Celerio is definitely spacious. The cargo area easily accommodate two to three travel bags while the rear seats split can fold 50/50 to take in larger items. Suzuki signature mark of being able to produce fuel friendly and at the same time spirited engine is not lost in the new Suzuki Celerio. The natural, newly-developed 1.0L 12-valve three cylinder gasoline helps the car navigate the city easily. The design of the engine blocking also helps reduce the weight of the overall car that leads to more fuel efficiency thus more mileage, making the new Suzuki Celerio's emission level the best in its league. With the transmission choices of either five-speed manual or four-speed gate type automatic, the Celerio has no problem gaining its 68 horsepower and 90 NM power stats in a short time. As far as comfort goes, the new Suzuki Celerio is far ahead in its class. The incorporation of a MacPherson strut setup for the front and a three-link rigid suspension for the rear makes great comfort another highlight of the Celerio. The 155/65R14 tires, 14-inch rims with full wheel caps and the 2,360 mm wheelbase also help maximizing passengers comfort. Speed control is not a problem either with ventilated disc brakes on the front wheels and drum brakes for the rear. The use of anti-lock brake system (ABS) with EBD or electronic brakeforce distribution gives the system a high quality deceleration mechanism. Dual front airbags are in place in the event of accident, as well as side impact beams.
