I have Linkin Park's "Under Attack" album. I listened to some of the songs, but many of the songs on the twenty track album sounded nothing even remotely like Linkin Park. So I determined to figure out the truth, and dug around in the internet to find the answers. And this is what I found.

Under Attack, 2002 album

It is a fan compilation, with fans taking songs and compiling them on an album.

#1 Under Attack (Crawling)= REMIX

This song is a remix of Linkin Park's "Crawling", which was the fifth song on their 2000 album Hybrid Theory. It was remixed by fans in honor of the 9-11 catastrophe. It is "Crawling" with some quotes by President Bush and news reporters mixed in. It was done quite well, and goes very well with the meaning of the song. Though I will personally stick with "Crawling" itself.

#2 My Reason= Spiritfall covering Xero.

This is one that opinion on who did it is somewhat divided, but the truth is that "My Reason" was a song originally written by Xero, which was Linkin Park before they were Linkin Park or Hybrid Theory. Xero was formed in 1996. This song was covered by a band totally unrelated to Linkin Park, named Spiritfall, and this covered version was put on the album. It gave SpiritFall a lot of good media
attention, and introduced them to a whole new fan base. I like this song, Spiritfall do a good job covering it.

#3 Wake Me= Grey Daze

Gray Daze was Linkin Park's lead singer Chester Bennington's band before joining Xero. When he joined Xero, they changed their name to Hybrid Theory, then to Linkin Park. This song is a song by his band from before though, Grey Daze. Grey Daze broke up in 1998 when the other members of the band attempted to take credit for the lyrics that Chester and another member wrote.

#4 Hole= Grey Daze

This is by Chester Benningtons's band again, Grey Daze. Grey Daze was formed in 1993.

#5 And One= And One is by Hybrid Theory. Once Chester Bennington joined Xero in 1999, they changed their name to Hybrid Theory. They wrote this song under the band name of Hybrid Theory. This is one of the only songs that sound like Linkin Park, this one sounds like them. It actually sounds like two songs combined, as it ends in the middle, and starts again with Mike Shinoda rapping. Maybe that is why it was called And One. This is a good song. I liked this one a lot. I begin to feel the chemistry between Mike and Chester just as it commences. Good song.

#6 Step Up= Hybrid Theory

This is by Hybrid Theory. One thing I notice in this earlier music is that they sing about music itself a lot more. In this song, they say things like how "The true master paralyzes his opponent with waves of sound, leaving him vulnerable for attack." Very true, they don't really paralyze, but they do transfix me. I love their music, and always will. Definitely at least ten times better than any other music I have ever heard.

#7 Part of Me= Hybrid Theory

Another song by Hybrid Theory. A good one in my opinion.

#8 The Down Syndrome= Grey Daze

Back To Grey Daze. Grey Daze, naturally being an older band, have an older style. But it is still a nice style, and I like it.

#9 She Shines= Grey Daze

Another song by Grey Daze, I like this one a lot.

#10 My December= Linkin Park

Now this is the only one that truly sounds like LP to me. Step Up and ones like that sound like them, but still have a bit of a different style. That is because they are Linkin Park for this song. This is a wonderful song, and I love it. I think it's the best on the album.

#11 A Place for My Head= REMIX

This is a remix Linkin Park made of A Place for My Head, which was on their Hybrid Theory album along with Crawling. This version of APFMH has some different beats and lyrics to it. It is interesting.

#12 Carousel= Hybrid Theory

I love this one, good song. I have nothing else to say about it.

#13 High Voltage= Hybrid Theory

This one is good, with some interesting lyrics, like how "I mastered numerology and big bang theology and performed lobotomies with telekinetic psychology." No one can deny that that is an interesting set of rhymes, whether they like them or now. Mike Shinoda's rapping is good rapping, I despise rap, and always have, but for some reason, when I hear his, I love it.
It is the whole package.

#14 I Just Want Your Company= Linkin Park covering Hed PE

This one has absolutely nil information on the internet, well practically. But it seems to be Linkin Park covering a song by a band called Hed PE. Not bad at all. Quite different.

#15 Points of Authority= REMIX

Not much remixed here, just a little different. But the remixes by Linkin Park are always enjoyable and worth it, regardless of whether I prefer them over the original or not.

#16 Papercut
#17 Runaway
#18 Forgotten
#19 High Voltage= All more remixes of songs on Hybrid Theory.

#20 One Step Closer= Live.

And this is I believe the first complete list and definition of all of the songs on Linkin Park's 2002 fan made album, "Under Attack, B-Sides" And I hope you enjoy it. The album and the article.
