Marketing Strategy: Get a Good Marketing Partner to Earn MoreBY: Evelyn Lalisan | Category: Sales-Marketing | Submitted: 2010-03-21 19:41:55
If you have a business and you want it to be a lucrative one, maybe it is time for you to make it happen by getting a partner. This is a good and effective way to improve business as proven by businessmen who tried this marketing strategy. Having partners, associates and any other form of alliances are essential to market your products and services more effectively. Your customers may even find this an advantage for them since they understand that you would be providing them with better service and expertise from your partners who are helping them. So, how do you choose the right partner or associate in your business? You have to consider some factors to accomplish your goal of making your business and partnership succeed as well. First you have to make a clear definition of what a partner would mean to you. It can be working together for mutual interests- you give each other exposure in your business so that customers would know you are affiliated with each other even if you have diverse business matters. This would be like a real state agent may partner with a lender, or a car salesman partnering with a car repair shop. It may be a lot more of this kind of partnership, but the key to remember here is that you would be exerting both efforts to collaborate together to satisfy the needs of your customers. It also means referring business to one another and often working together on a venture for your customers. The idea of choosing a partner poses some challenge for you. You have to be rather critical about this. You have to decide the best qualities and the potentials of your business. Then try to identify which companies or fields which you can do business with based on the needs of your client base. Try to find out if your goals, marketing principles, beliefs and values agree; if they do, then you have found your ideal partner. Like in any other affiliation and partnership, trust is an essential factor to make it succeed. Trust is an utmost trait that would bind any partnership. If your gut tells you that you can't trust your partner, then avoid working with them. You must also have good communication, be up front with your objectives and expect your partner to do the same. Being honest is also required for the both of you to make the partnership work well. To show trust and honesty, try to do work that would earn your partner's trust, do things that would show your partner that you are good enough to be trusted. You must also be able to see that in your partner. It is a give and take relationship and a deep commitment that both of you would have to do till you are assured of your trust for each other. Keep in mind that you have to build the trust between you, and your partner must be able to think that way, too. Yet, partnering does not really have to be official. It may be a partnership based on friendship, a handshake or by some customer referrals. If it just a matter of making good on your word that you would make referrals for your partner and the same goes with your partner to make referrals to you. That way, you have an affiliation of helping each other. Now, if money is involved in a partnership, then it may be entirely a different story. Make sure to make a binding contract, make it a legal one for your own good. If products and services were exchanged for money, it would be good for you if you put everything in writing or into a legal document . That is the proper way, and that is a good way to do good business. It would be a business decision for you if you take on an official partner to help make your business prosper in the right direction. If you seal this partnership with legal documents then everything may be deemed official and you have to live up to the part of your agreement. If you would rather have an open kind of partnership with no strings attached or bonded by any legal document, then this is just part of good business relations.
