As fattening as they might be, people usually enjoy these foods, and therefore sticking to such a strict diet might require a lot of willpower. Cleansing and fasting are often seen as a less effort-intensive alternative to the combination of strict diet and exercise described above. You might want however to note that these techniques are not usually recommended by nutrition experts. On the other hand, there seem to be enough people who had success with them, so it is really up to you to make your decision. But remember to check it with your physician before actually starting on any such thing.

If nothing seems to work and you are really out of options, you might want to take into consideration a technique called gastric bypass surgery. This is a medical procedure used usually in cases of obesity and serious related health problems, when rapid weight loss helps the body heal. The main attraction is that the results are instantaneous, but keep in mind that this is surgery that you are talking of. It is a drastic measure, recovery is usually painful, and the procedure might get expensive if your insurance does not cover it. This should really be a last solution to be considered only when nothing else remains.

No matter what your reasons, one of the above methods should help you experience a rapid weight loss. However, remember that losing the weight is only the first step and the real challenge might be maintaining your new figure. Keeping the extra pounds off usually requires a significant change of your lifestyle. If you bring yourself to make a long-term lifestyle change, the chances are high that you will not only lose the extra pounds, but also keep them off for good.
