We remember what the military has been based upon. They have made strides to ensure that everyone has a chance to serve their country as equally as possible. They have instilled many things to make those who deploy feel at ease. However, things are changing. It starts with the don't ask don't tell situation. Now, however, they are trying to get rid of something else.

We have seen across America where people are trying to make known the issue of the difference of church and state. This has been a debate for quite some time. We have first taken out the name God from the schools and in other government buildings. Then it is taking away prayer.

Now, it has reached a whole new lever as the military is trying to get rid of religion. The Navy has already made it to where they don't mention God. They are trying to take prayer away from the military. So what happens if they do this? Theoretically, there will be no need for the chaplain which has many annoyed. There are many men who loved the fact that there was someone there to talk to who has the counseling ability, but whose soul purpose while overseas is to assist in the moral and mental as well as spiritual well being of those that they serve with.

Many are taken aback by this. They are wondering why this is being done. They say that no one is being forced to accept religion. They aren't commanded to pray. Services are held, but you don't have to attend. So, why is it that they are trying to get rid of this? Many are wondering.

Others say that the military is under the rules of government. Therefore, there is no need for religion if you all are serving the same country. However, those who chaplain to these men and women who fight for our freedom, you will find that they are very upset by this. They see what they do and they see the good work that comes away from this when they go back home. There have been some very dedicated chaplains who have given their life.

While things are slowly happening to make the changes, many wonder what is next. When is enough really enough? When you take away the religious beliefs of those men and women who go over there who have faith, what to they have left? It is said that sometimes, belief of a better place and prayer to a god when times are rough are the exact things that get the men and women through their deployments. What will happen if that is not allowed? Many begin to wonder. Others are writing congress about this outrage. Everyone has the right to religion, so why are they denying them this right? What are your thoughts on this? If you feel passionate about this, you can follow suite and give them a piece of your mind. It's a debate we never saw coming.

It's everyone's right to religion but that does not mean the military should be required to pay for a service that facilitates a specific religion just because it has done so in the past. If you stand by this principle then the military should have to higher a religious leader from all sects as well a psychiatrist to help deal with those who aren't influenced by simple methods.
