Politics and blogging are worlds apart. Politics is a world of its own. Politicians do everything in the book to win or get re-elected in their positions. They can engage in mudslinging and dirty campaigning to get elected and have an edge over their opponents. Blogging on the other hand is an internet entity on its own where a blogger writes and blogs about something that may be worthy to write about, comments or opinions that may get the interest of those who read or surf the net. How can politicians learn from bloggers? What good pointers can they pick up from bloggers to do better in their jobs? It can be simple if you think of characteristic traits that a successful blogger must have. A successful and a good blogger have good traits that make the person succeed in their fields. These good traits are the following, and politicians must learn them or at least try to follow them to enable them to succeed better in their jobs as politicians. One of the best traits of a good and successful blogger is the ability to do good research before final posting of the blog. What is written there on the blog may comprise the blogger's personal thoughts, views or opinions based on the research done about the subject. In the same notion, politicians must also do sufficient research before making a standpoint about an issue. If a blogger surfs and does research from other sources like other articles, publications and similar resources, the politicians can do research by way of surveys, poll opinions and statistics, study these results as to their pros and cons, then finally making the decision to make their stand on the issue open to the public. A good blogger has the good ability to write down their thoughts in the simplest way that is easily understood by their readers. Bloggers write in concise, direct and clear manners that ideas are easily perceived by the readers. This is a good reason why successful bloggers are visited by readers more often. Similarly, politicians should learn this ability to be able to communicate better with their constituents. They may have to work on their language capabilities and even their public speaking skills. If bloggers continuously connect with their readers through regular posting of their blogs on their websites or links, so must the politicians who must be often seen publicly by their constituents and must be available to them as well. Being visible and available is important for the politicians' images so the people would remember these good traits come election time. Since bloggers take the time to respond to queries and comments by their readers, they do so in a respectful manner and as quickly as they have the opportunity to do so. This trait must be adapted by the politicians similarly if they receive emails and letters from their constituents. Politicians must take the time to answer such letters and must be able to answer or respond in some courteous and timely manner. Politicians must remember that these are the people who elected them to their positions so it is just right for them to be able to give back this kind of service. Just like the blogger who owes the readers for the success of their blog, because if there are no readers, there would not be any blog in existence. Hence, you now know why politicians may learn some good pointers from bloggers. What they should learn are about the good traits that most bloggers have. Politicians can use these traits, learn them and make use of them to become better politicians and do better service for their constituents.
