Recent Music- Is it as Shocking as the Older Generation Thinks it is?

In comics like "Zits" you always see the parents listening to the son Jeremy's music and having their heads blown off. Is that how it is now? Short answer- yes. But music has always been that way. The Beetles and Elvis generation considered them shocking and controversial; like with "Lucy in the sky with diamonds, and with ELvis gyrating his hips. Music will always offend someone. Especially the older people. THe solution is to ask someone you know for some lighter songs. Someone who listens to music a lot. You don't even know me, let alone trust me, but I do listen to music. And I have a few points I would like to make.

GOOD MUSIC IS NOT DEAD! There is good music if you look for it or ask someone's opinion who you trust. Sometimes content offends people, sometimes it is swear words. Content- sometimes people have to sing what they are thinking. I accept that. Vulgar terminology- I think if it is not just used for effect, then it is fine. Personally. The main thing to me is if the songs have music in them. Real instruments. Some that do have that is Nickelback, OneRepublic, The Script, The Fray, Matchbox 20, Train, Rob Thomas, Plain White T's among others. Also, sometimes synthetic music can be good too, like with Owl City. No swear words in Owl City. Nickelback have swear words? Yes, but because they fit. OneRepublic? Only one, and it fits in with the song. They thought it should be in there, so they put it in there. OneRepublic actually has a member of the band who specifically plays string instruments like Violins, cellos. In "Secrets", they have an air cello. Owl City and OneRepublic both have spectacular lyrics, along with the others. Songs by these bands are thoughtful, they are heartfelt, and some are quite sad, (The Script). If you know where to look, the good music is there for you, you just have to find it. These aren't the really popular ones like Katy Perry and Eminem and Lady Gaga, but they still play on radios, and they still play great music. This perspective was from an Eagles and Fleetwood Mac fan too. I struggled in filtering out the shocking ones. This is what I have arrived at. Thank you for reading. I hope this helps someone somewhere.
