Room Arrangement Tips With Unique FactorsBY: Evan Leong | Category: Others | Submitted: 2010-08-31 12:11:41
Figuring out where certain furniture goes in a room can be incredibly hard. Deciding what goes with what, where, and how is always a burning question in any homeowners mind. There are many sites that assist in the creation of rooms through a user friendly auto cad like program, however its always best to use your own imagination and take into consideration what you might be using the room for. Many people factor in the use of the room as well. Personally, I wanted to use my room not only for living space, but for recording as well. Deciding where the best place to get sound also determined the ultimate layout and structure of my room. Placing things far from the window to reduce noise made rearranging an even bigger tetris game than I had anticipated. Analyzing where light comes in is also a huge factor. Sunlight can determine the temperature of your room, as well as make your room look more open or dark and ominous. Placing where you spend alot of time, such as a bed or desk in front of a window full of sunlight is personal preference. Many people like being woken up by sunlight, while others dread the light of morning bursting through the window pane into their face. This can also be applied to a desk. Placing a desk where the sunlight will be hitting you directly may be an uncomfortable workspace. Also with sunlight comes glare. This plays a huge factor especially if you own a television set or place a computer monitor right where sunlight hits. If your television screen does not protect against glare, you might just be staring into a reflection the entire time you are trying to watch a movie. This also goes for a computer screen. Many people feel like they can deal with it but after a while it becomes a huge burden, especially if you use your room as an office as well. All in all, as great as some programs are in helping you choose the layout of your room, there are still many personal factors to consider. You should always use your imagination as well! Good Luck!
