We're going through a recession. We all know that. They're constantly repeating this. In case somebody didn't notice, or forgot. The big firms are really straining to be eco-friendly, to save money and make people save money and overall they're working hard not to go broke. They're cutting branches and sending people home, reducing pollution and costs, they're applying discounts and avoiding waste. Or at least they're trying. Even the car market had to deal with it. The big car companies realized that small and economical cars are the future, while SUV's are, slowly, going out of style. The fact that the production of the Hummer stopped goes to show this, along with the fact that one of the best selling cars in the USA is a half-electric Toyota. Each company is trying to do something, or at least trying to make it look like they are. Which is already much. There's one car company, though, that's running upstream. It's called Infiniti, it makes cars, and it is the luxury car division of automaker Nissan.

Infiniti has got five current models on sale. They are all big, heavy, petrol fuelled cars with big engines, therefore not particularly economical nor eco-friendly.

Guys from Infiniti don't seem to care much about the recession, they don't care about saving money and they don't care about what other people think. Their unofficial motto is "never give explanations, never say sorry". They are the motoring equivalent of what Mourinho or Ibrahimovic are for football. Or Liam Gallagher for music. People with a strong attitude, cocky, presumptuous and often deliberately unpleasant. They don't really pay attention to other people's opinion. So we could pick on Infiniti for not doing enough for us and for the environment, or because they're selfishly ignoring the world's economical situation, and instead we're forced to accept and respect their choice to keep making expensive cars. We live in a modern democracy so, theoretically, we're all free to do as we like, in respect of others. But is it really a good idea? Let's make this clear, I firmly support democracy, I love living in a country where somebody who's guilty of a crime gets a notification that says he's subject to investigation, so he can try to escape abroad or hide the stolen goods, and I'm glad to live in a nation where you can't kick and then lash the thief who breaks into your house until the police come because if you did you could be charged for kidnapping him and damaging him. There is, however, one part of a democracy I don't like: parking. When it comes to parking I'm not a democrat, I'm an oppressor and proud of it. You don't agree, do you? I see your point. It doesn't sound that good what I just said, does it? Each of us has the right to park where he wants, in respect of the laws enforced; so unless you're parking in double-park or in a no parking space, or generally grazing someone else's right to park, you're free to park as you like. Nothing bad about it, at all. Right? Wrong. Picture this scene. The tremendously gorgeous girl you're after finally accepted your invitation, she proposes a movie for the night. You go pick her up and drive to the cinema, you're a bit late because it took her a million years to be ready but still in time. All you need to do is parking. It's Saturday night so the cinema's car park it's crowded, but there you go, there you go, there it is! A parking spot! You get close to it, only to find out that some cretin occupied two parking spots with his twisted parking. Not nice, is it?

Another example. You're driving with your family and your baby has insisted to join you to go the supermarket, instead of staying home with the nanny, it didn't look like a good idea, you've got guests for the night so you'll have to be careful and it'll take long. But the little boy was so sweet that your wife/his mum finally gave in and took him with you. You get there, and start wandering about in vain in order to find an empty spot, while your baby is getting nervous. You catch a glimpse of what appears to be an empty space, go there and notice that some pillock parked his Cayenne badly, so he invaded three parking spots with just one car. Impossible to fit your car on the right or on the left of the Cayenne. The baby is now crying.

Luckily, however, I've got the solution: rotary blade to define parking lanes. White painted lines don't work. Probably because most motorists are blind, or stupid, and insist on driving cars while they'd better drive horses, or Sarah Jessica Parker, which is the same thing, really.
My solution is rational, effective and rather helpful for the recession.

Think about it. Rotary blades will force people to pay attention while parking in order not to damage their own cars. Many will probably fail anyway, and this will not only teach them a lesson but will also oblige them to repair their cars. That would be good for any panel beater, mechanic or tyre dealer. Somebody will have to fix your car damaged your inability to park and by the rotary blades. Say, for instance, that this mechanic is called James, James will use the money he makes mending stupid drivers' cars to buy a car he likes. That will allow some dealership owner to make some money and hire some employee, who will get paid and buy some clothes from some shop, which will pay some money to some shop assistant, who will be able to purchase a new mobile phone, so the mobile phone shop owner will be able to hire someone to work for him, who will be able, with the money he makes, to buy something for his/her girlfriend/boyfriend. Which could be you.

I think I agree that there are people who are downright careless and uncaring about parking their cars properly. Unnecessary arguments and fights happen which sometimes lead to property damage, physical injury or even death. I like the way you connected everything in your last paragraph. Who knows, it can happen! Thanks.. Evelyn Lalisan - Author 2010-03-16 20:49:55 19
