Self Analysis - Do you know yourself?BY: TDH Graham | Category: Self-Improvement | Submitted: 2012-01-06 21:27:01
Who fools you most often? A friend? A neighbor? A spouse? Someone else? No, the answer is you. You fool yourself the most of anyone, how often do you realize something that you could have figured out yourself if you had tried. The solution to this is self analysis, and you will never fool yourself again. Someone realizes that they are angry. They are mad. They are furious. This is the first step of emotions. The second step, at least ninety percent of the population never pursue. The second step is: Why am I angry? Why? Very few people ask this question of themselves. Many just don't think of it, or don't consider it important. But self analysis is personally, the most important thing you can do for your life. Once you diagnose what is causing you angry, then you can decide how best to eliminate that anger. This might just sound like a stupid anger control thing, but it works with everything. You can say: I keep thinking about that girl. Then, you need to say: I wonder why? You need to think about why, think about when it began, how long it has lasted, what may have caused it. Then, don't stop there, think about why you think something may have caused it. "Well, I keep thinking about this girl. Why? Maybe I like her. Why do I? This started that time she wore a shirt that exposed her shoulder. Why did it start then? It must have been what caused it. Then if that caused it, will it continue? I viewed her as quite plain before that moment." And this is just a random example. It can be used in anything, and it works for other people too. It is just extraordinary. I can not express how astonishing it is when you do it yourself, and I am sure that at this point you are saying "Hey, I already do that all the time myself. This is some weird person who doesn't think everyone can do that." But it is a different feeling when you go even farther, most people either go "I'm annoyed," they just have this feeling. Even if they explore it, they do not go very far, or take things for granted. "I am angry, because John just annoys me." Then, why does John annoy? "He's a jerk." Why do you view him so? "Because..." People often stop too soon, the key is to push your self analysis as far as you can. I have not given a very good explanation here, it is almost impossible to express well, but this is THE most important thing for self improvement, to improve your knowledge of your mind and thoughts, your feelings and urges. Please, just try it. It can't hurt. It helps. Astonishingly. If you perform self analysis well enough, then you will never fool yourself again. I never have, and with my knowledge of myself, it is much easier for me to prevent other people from fooling me. You are the person who fools yourself the most, who lies to you the most, this can change that.
