As a well-known quote reads, "If thy daughter marry well, thou hast found a son; if not, thou hast lost a daughter". In our typical Indian society when a girl just enters her twenties parents and relatives start thinking about getting her married as soon as possible its like now or never for them .age from 20yrs to 23yrs of a daughter is the golden era for her parents. They give in their 100% to find a perfect house, a perfect match for their princesses.
My mother had me when she was 21 she was happy and settled in her new family and this must be the case with many 40 year old mummies. So actually its not their fault if they want the same for their daughters because society has injected these values in their veins .parents always want the best for their kids and the olden culture ,is what I would like to call it, has taught them that this is the best for their girls.

The society needs to broaden its view in this regard. It needs to understand that marriage is not the solution to a girls life always. There are so many other things that exist on the face of this earth than marriage for us young girls. today in this jet age career and independence is the most important thing for any individual be it a girl or a boy and today's youth is very ambitious about their aspirations .no, I am not saying that our society does not allow a girl to walk on her desired career path but before the career even starts to flourish marriage comes on the cards which is not fair.

When a boy turns 21 parents won't even be bleakly thinking about getting him married for a boy to marry its very important to set his career which I agree with and then he can marry at the age of 27 or 28 after being capable of taking the responsibility of his partner. Now, what if a girl wants to make a career and be independent?? She is not even given an option of being unmarried till the age of 25 because that according to the olden culture is a senior age for her!

It's high time now our typical society needs to broaden their view in this regard. It's time for the new culture to replace the old culture. Marriage is a divine institution and factors like age should never form the sole basis of that institution. And frankly gone are the days when women used to sit at home, making food, cleaning the house and waiting for their husbands to come home so that they can serve them hot meals now there ain't any field existing in which men can be said to be better than women. We are being called the fairer sex and not the males!! We have the equal right to enjoy our freedom and our single-hood. We have the right to run our careers in the best direction and at a decent pace.

In the end all I would like to say is that we girls love our parents and family and they obviously love us back and as a fact even more so there should not be a problem to stay together for some more years!! Let us all together bring this revolution and free our country and our society from such stagnant policies because now there is equality of gender everywhere in our country then why not in this context..!!
