Some People Are Just Not Clever and Intelligent Enough to Deserve Your AttentionBY: Alessandro Saetta Vinci | Category: Relationships | Submitted: 2010-04-03 11:50:04
There are two sides of this story: 1. I'm a petrol head. I've always been a petrol head. I love anything that has a engine in it (more or less). I don't expect people to like me because of that and I don't expect all people to share this passion with me. 2. A person I know is not a petrol-head. I've had various verbal fights with this person because he's a cretin, but I thought I couldn't have been sure of that, until the other night I've had a conversation with this person, which like I already mentioned is the most stupid human being alive, and he said he thought that heated seats on a car were the most incredible thing ever known to men, and he also said he didn't even know they existed. We're in 2010. Welcome to the World. Am I the only one to see why this is such a serious flaw? You see, I'm not particularly interested in make up artists and hairdressing, but I know what lipstick is and what a fringe is and I know they have been existing for more than 20 seconds. I'm not a big fan of pop music but I know who Jonas Brothers are. Why do you think I know it? Well before explaining, let me tell you about one more episode: I've had another argument with another friend of mine the other day who claims that Spanish people are the nicest people on earth. And she knows that because she likes to watch an MTV show that takes places in Barcelona. I, on the other hand, claim that the Spanish are the most ignorant, rude and arrogant people I've ever met because I've been to Spain several times and in different places. People always think they know better because they've "heard of", and they think that everything they don't know is not important. They think that once you know who Michelangelo was and what the Brooklyn Bridge is, then you're done. Right? No. Don't misunderstand me; historical culture is hugely important because it represents knowledge, but a decent culture on current events and facts represents intelligence. I don't care about stupid tv shows, about pop music and I don't care about many other things. But I kind of know a little about everything because I've got ears and eyes. If you know a person who's never heard of Beyonce, who's never heard of heated seats there's a high chance this person doesn't know all that because he or she doesn't pay attention to the world he/she's living in, which I think it's much worse than not knowing about the world that used to be, well there are good possibilities that this person is not intelligent enough to be your friend. Bottom line, why is it so important to know what heated seats are? Because if you don't know basic facts, even if they're related to something you're not interested in, it means you're not listening, it means your eyes are shut. And if your eyes are shut your mind is probably shut as well. So you're an idiot, and you don't deserve my friendship. Here's a tip, if you're talking to a person who doesn't why your car is beeping when you park backwards, you might as well just want to cut his head off.
