Some Things We're Teaching Our DaughtersBY: Deidre Dorsett | Category: Women | Submitted: 2010-06-22 20:18:20
When you pass by some of the teenage girls whether they be at your local grocery store or the mall, you might stop to wonder about this day and age and what women teach their daughters. Many of you might think what has this world come to? We ask the same thing. So, here is what we have learned when we look at how we were raised as compared to how these girls are raised. For starters, girls have no respect of their bodies. Looking at many of the women who are out there, many of the girls have the parents who were raised in the fifties and sixties. With that in mind, they allow their girls to express themselves. Many of the girls dress to what they think would make a guys mind spin. Girls for some reason now days feel that if they have a child at a young age, then it's cool. Many of you might find this shocking. Some of you might not. Now, don't get us wrong. We support single mothers, but there is a difference between happening upon this and then causing it because you wanted it. Some girls are taught that you are supposed to fight for what you believe in. this is good to some degree. There is an extent where it just becomes too much. You have to know when that extreme is and when to stop. Again, some women don't understand this. They just think that everyone should change the way they act or feel so that they can get their way. Women today are raised to be manipulative. Women are taught to speak their mind. Again, this is good at times. However, there are times ladies that we just have to shut our mouth as we are not in control. What good will it do either? Think of it this way. Glitz is something that they are also taught. They have to have the long manicured nails. They have to have the clothing and Walmart won't work. They have to have the bigger and the better and women today don't know the meaning of money or of saving. Another thing they are taught is that a woman shouldn't have to work. Men should be able to care for you. What we are finding is that these girls start to depend on people way too much. They live with family or friends and they don't know how to work. This is not what we should be teaching our teenage girls. Think about what you should be teaching your daughter. Think about it this way. What you don't teach her she will learn the hard way. Daughters learn from their mothers as to what they should teach their daughters. This is because it's the fact of life. If they weren't taught this, they might not teach this. If this is true, then we are in trouble. Big trouble I tell you. Article Source: http://www.writearticles.org/ About Author / Additional Info: Comments on this article: (1 comments so far)
