Though technology has made our lives easier but can we categorize it as a blessing? It is quite debatable because where we have so many advantages of technology there are negativities as well. Nuclear bombs, test tube babies and human displacement by machines causing unemployment are also the gifts of technology. Well there are many positive aspects too, let us discuss the positives and negatives separately. In Favor of Technology: • Technology has made our lives easier by providing so many machines which enables us to work without putting much effort. • Things have improved and accuracy is enhanced due to the fact that machines can work better than men and they are also human-error free. • Technology enhancement offers easy solutions to many human problems and saves a lot of time. Machines work faster than men and are more convenient to operate as it is just needed to feed in the exact job unlike when we deal with humans where we are required to explain each and every minute detail to get the work done perfectly. • Machines help human work with more reliance as they give the true figures without any errors made by mistake or deliberately. • Machines make things convenient by providing efficiency, accuracy and reliability. • Technology has produced many options for entertainment thus reduced the boredom and monotony. Against Technology: Technology has made things worse as well. Let's see what it has done to our lives: • It has brought many evils like nuclear bombs, dynamite, gun etc. • Some people say that technology offers artificial solutions and thus is an artificial way of extending human power which is unreal and unnatural. • People can use technology in their benefit and can manipulate situations and things. • Technology interfere with nature and natural processes and allow many unnatural happenings like test tube babies which upside downs the most natural process of nature - reproduction. • Technology replaces humans at work and thus contributes towards increasing unemployment. • Other evils like spying and manipulation becomes easy due to technology. • Human don't prefer using their brains and can get solutions easily with the help of machine like calculators, computers and other electronic devices. These devices have made it easy to find answers to most of the mathematical and arithmetical issues. • Due to technology enhancement, higher human degree achievement is no more a big deal; now the humans have to be scientists or so to get the jobs because machines can perform every work easily. This unemployment has resulted in many other social problems like poverty, crimes, lack of job security etc. • Due to personalized entertainment options like electronic toys, computer games, PSP etc, the concept of family entertainment is diminishing and people find less time to spend with their families. • This technologically fast paced world has increased the speed of the life and to cope up with ever changing world humans are getting busy day by day and they are unable to find time even for themselves. Keeping in view these positive and negative points it's up to the man to decide whether technology is a blessing or a curse. Where it has so many positive impacts on our lives, it has also created distances between humans. World is becoming much materialistic and social where everyone is in an effort to impress others. Traits like humbleness, kindness and politeness is been replaced by agony, egoism and selfishness. People don't think it bad if somebody keep him or herself as a priority. Human values are changing and the world is becoming much practical with less space for humanity. People have even started feeling their parents and kids as a burden as they can't serve them due to chronic busyness. Now it's up to the individual how it allows the technology to effect their lives. One can take technology positively and use it for their convenience only, with less focus towards its negative side. One must not allow the technology to be involved in their lives so much that they can't find time for themselves and their families. Using things moderately and not allowing them to get on one's nerves is the key to live a happy life.
