If you have noticed the movie rental businesses near your home are doing more advertisements and specials than normal, you are not mistaken. They sort of have to if they are going to keep afloat. What we are seeing is that more and more people have stopped using places like Hollywood Video, Blockbuster, and Family Video for other things.

Many are using things such as Netflix due to the convenience. You have a yearly fee and you can rent as many movies as you would like to get. You can also keep them for as long as you want. There are no late fees that you have to deal with. You don't get a new movie until you send the others back. That seems like a fair way of doing things. Many have started using this as well and have been happy with the outcomes. They also get the movies mailed to them or they get them to where they can download them from their Wii.

Others are using the television. They might pay two dollars or three dollars for a new release, but it just gets added to their bill. They just hit the buy button and confirm that they want to purchase the movie and that's that. They can watch an assortment of movies right from home. They have saved money on gas and all of that.

There are others who are downloading them from online. This takes no time at all or they just go about and borrow the movie from someone who has it already as they might have bought it. Then what they do is they burn the cd. That's something that they can do just as easily and it saves them money. Now you see the need for those advertisements that they are coming up with.

Then there are the ever popular red boxes. Who can pass these up? They add new movies all the time. You can reserve the movies as well. When you do this, you can pick them up from any location near you that has a red box and has that movie available. How much better can you get? They only charge you a dollar for each night you have it.

Due to all these things, there are many new things that Blockbuster and Family Video have tried. Hollywood Video didn't' last long. One thing that Family Video has started is that for one night you can rent a new release for only one dollar. Most of them are making it that you can rent children's movies for free. How much better can it get? They have to do something before they go extinct.
