Now I know, I know what you're thinking. You think you know why you travel.
And you also think that many many people like to travel.

You're wrong. On both counts. First of all let's get this clear. A very small amount of people really travel, because there are many who are not interested in doing it, and many others who say they are, but actually don't travel, and not because of money problems, but because of laziness.
Let's cut to the chase, you travel because you want to feel good.

Obvious? Banal? No. Not even a tiny bit.

You see I know what you're thinking, there are many things that make you feel good and free.
I've played football atleast once a week over the last 4 years, and yes, that does make me feel good and free, because while I'm playing I'm not thinking about anything else, not reminiscing any unpleasant thought and my mind is free. Then, after one hour or so, when the game's over. There I am, once again with my thoughts and feelings.

I've got a few friends that like to go for a ride on their motorbikes on Sundays, and I'm betting they feel free and happy as well....until they're back home again.
You see with travelling, this does not happen.

I've been to America recently and I've spent ten days there. My mind was completely free, empty in a way, I wasn't thinking, I was just enjoying life.

So yes, art is important is the heritage of the past and yes culture is important, it makes broaden your horizons, and yes, wife swapping is huuuuuuuuuuugely important as well as trying to make a move on locals.

Long story short, you travel because it's fun. Because when you're away driving a rental car on the highways of California, or when you're riding a bicycle in Brussels, or when you're simply having a beer in Innsbruck, none of that will matter. There's not gonna be any annoying and callous boss forcing you to work overtime, no irritating colleague talking behind your back. Only you, a pint of beer and the world.

Quite frankly, I can't think about any better ways to spend your time and your money.
