Political development is something that is done by people in politics to a large extent. Other than those who are in politics, there are also ordinary people who are all in various stages of political development in their own organizations or in their own community. Political development is a very important factor that determines if the person is able to survive a particular society or not. If a person does not develop politically, the people who are around the person will ride over him and the person will have no say in any matter. Continuous development in all stages of politics is very important. There are various stages in which a person's political development can be divided. This is the process in which a person who has not been politically active and been apathetic slowly changes into a person who is a full fledged politician. The various stages of political development of people in full time politics or in the politics of an organization are as follows: 1. APATHY: This is the stage in which a person has no interest in politics & does not belong to a professional organization. This is the first stage in which most people are at initially before joining politics. A person seems not to care for any of the activities that are going on and just live life as it is. 2. BUY IN: This is the stage in which the individual who has been apathetic for all this time recognizes the importance of activism within professional organization & may join professional organization but is not active. By this, we understand that the particular person is part of a political establishment, but is dormant and involves in minimal activity relating to the politics. 3. SELF INTEREST: This is the stage in which the person who is in politics uses the professional organization or the political organization for networking to further the persons own career & the interest of the people and even that of the organization. This is the stage in which the person starts to be actively involved in the various politics. 4. POLITICAL SOPHISTICATION: The person starts moving beyond self interest to activism on behalf of the public through holding offices in professional organization at local and state levels. This makes the person to become well versed in various political activities. This is an important stage because this is the learning stage where a person learn all about various political activities, leadership skills and also various other things. 5. LEADING THE WAY: This is the final stage in the political development where the person provides leadership on broad issues often by serving in elected & appointed positions in professional organization. This makes the follower into a leader. The stage where the follower becomes a leader depends on various factors that include correct political atmosphere and also other factors. These are the various stages in political development. There are some people who are able to go only up to the 4th stage and there are others who are able to go from one stage to another by even missing one of the stages in the middle.
