The Weather is Nice. The Sun is Shining. Take the Bloody Roof Down!BY: Alessandro Saetta Vinci | Category: Others | Submitted: 2010-05-07 18:26:08
As I might have already mentioned I've been to Las Vegas recently and when I was there I got myself a nice car to drive around town. Would you like to know what is the first thing I did when I got off the plane? Go to my hotel room for some rest? No. Go gambling and lose my house? No. Go look for a prostitute to spend the night? No. The first thing I did was get the roof of my convertible car down. As a matter of fact I got the car in "open" mode when I got there and put the roof back on when I left. That's what I did. A convertible presents a huge amount of drawbacks: it is more subject to vandalism and bad weather conditions, it is a lot heavier than a 4 door saloon or a coupe because the chassis has to be reinforced, that affects the handling, performance, braking, in many convertibles the roof steals room from the boot, and it's expensive, so really all you're paying for are the looks and the possibility to drive with the wind in your face. So what's the point of driving a cabriolet with the roof up? It's like going to bed with Charlize Theron and when she finally agrees to take all of her clothes off you just put them back on her. It's ridiculously pointless and stupid. I mean, you've bought a car, you've deliberately chosen one that was worse, slower, heavier, less practical, less economical, less safe, harder to keep clean and tidy, and paid a lot of money for it, just to have something that you don't use. How idiotic is that? I was coming home the other night at about 3 am and a Merc SLK literally thundered by me, and it had its top down. I felt relieved! I just bought a Fiat 500 convertible and in a few weeks I should be able to pick it up from the dealership and drive it home, and I'll do it with the roof completely down. I don't care if it's hailing. Article Source: http://www.writearticles.org/ About Author / Additional Info: Comments on this article: (0 comments so far)
