There are many Religions all over the world. To define Religion in its simplest term- it is a way of life, it is a set of practice of faith and beliefs that influence and mold the life of the believer. In reality, religion has some complicated meanings. It is based on a concept of a higher being or a supreme power that believers take as their guiding force in their life. Religion practices are shown through its traditions, cultural values, belief and rites that influence their way of thinking, manners and characters. Religion is associated with world history and it has always played a vital role in it. It may have been considered as a sort of motivation for the formation of different civilizations existing all over the world. There are many religions spread all over but there are the five foremost religions that have domination over others. Christianity is considered to be the largest religion in the world. The believers are called Christians and they believe and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ as the Son of God. The Bible is the Sacred Book of Christianity and is divided into the Old Testament which is about life before the birth of Jesus and the New Testament dealing about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Christianity also believes in the return of Jesus and the Last Judgment Day where everybody would be judged according to the way they have lived their life (good or bad) whether they go to heaven or hell. Buddhism is a religion based on the wisdom and traditions of Buddha. It has a large following in Southeast Asia. Buddha was believed to have been born in Nepal and he spent his life preaching about philosophies of life. Islam is a religion that has its origins traced back to the teachings of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. The Quran is the Sacred Book of Islam. The believers of this religion are called Muslims. Their way of life is following the Five Pillars of Islam which symbolizes the five duties in the life of a Muslim. Most believers are located in the Middle East, Asia and some parts of Africa. Hinduism is referred to as the oldest existing belief. It is commonly referred to as 'the eternal law'. The teachings are often found in script ures like the Vedas, Ramayana and Mahabharata. Its main teachings include Philosophy, theology and mythology. Most Hindus are located in India and some areas of South Asia. Judaism is a religion that traces its origins from the Hebrew Bible. This institutes the relationship between the Israelites as the Children of Israel and God. The believers are known as Jews. Their belief is about God who created the world and is the Supreme Ruler of all. The Judaism religion has some influences on Christianity and Islam because they believe in the existence of God as the creator of the world. The teachings of Judaism are contained in Torah, one of the five books of the Hebrew Bible. A lot of people are of the opinion that Judaism is the oldest religion in the world. The Jews are located in Israel and in many other parts of the world. These are the five largest religions of the world. Regardless of the difference in religions, cultures and traditions, the human race is bonded under one and that is a separate entity known as Humanity.
