Southern Italy is, well, it's complicated. It's really hard to talk about it without offending anyone. You can't say anything about their football team Napoli, which will NOT win anything this year, because you get beaten up to death, you can't talk about organized crime because you get a horse head on your pillow in the morning, you can't talk about inefficiencies in health and safety and you can't say anything about their accent, or you'll be stabbed. And every other negative comment you could post or say or think regarding southern people, will always end up with some "Gennaro" that shoots you in the head while his mate "Vincenzo" is stealing your wallet.

BUT, I don't really care about Gennaros and Vincenzos so I don't mind saying that I don't like Southern Italy. I don't like their accents, I don't like their food, I don't like how they're always so convinced that everything there is better than it is in the rest of the world, I don't like their football teams, I don't like how they so often try to screw you and I don't even really like their woman. I mean they're gorgeous, but as far as I can tell, Ukrainian or Tuscan women are better. And easier to get as well.
So the only way for me to get up very early in the morning, get in my car, drive to Pisa, get on a plane and go there is to have a good enough reason to. Very good indeed. So that excludes football, it excludes mates, it excludes the seaside, and only leaves us with two options: cars or women.

Well, I should point out that while I was there I actually did drive a car. A Lancia Y10 "Elefantino blu". So it wasn't cars, then. What was it? Seaside? Hills, perhaps? Shopping. NO. It was indeed a woman.

Now I ought to say that I'm not faithful, not trustworthy, never had serious intentions with anybody and I have a strange tendency to date girls who've been in a relationship for 3,5 years. And ruin those relationships by getting in the situation.

That having said, I'm way too shocked, way too caught up in this frenzy right now, so I'm just gonna say that on Sunday night I had 4 beers in a row and spent three hours in one of the most desolated, rusty, useless backstreets I've ever seen. Leaned against a wall that was going black because of mould with cars passing by and a strange and sinister man smoking one cigarette after the other, but, I was in good company. A Southern, slender, Heavenly gorgeous, black eyed girl.

So that, as far as I'm concerned, is the best place in the world.
